The Emigrants: Review

Nominated for a slew of Academy Awards in 1972, this engaging, well-crafted film about a group of Swedish peasants who migrate to America in the mid-19th century is one of the best films to show the bravery and faith of the people who helped build this country. The acting, particularly by Liv Ullmann and Max von Sydow is superb and director Jan Troell's beautiful cinematography lends an added dimension. Read the complete review for The Emigrants
