Nothing really strange about this entry in the "Crime Doctor" series. Baxter plays the famous psychiatrist who has given up his position on the parole board to practice psychiatry and solve mysteries part time. The story concerns the poisoning of a retired realtor, who at one time was a
partner in a cafe venture with a man who supposedly vanished with $50,000, but really was killed. Baxter learns that the nephew of the slain man did the poisoning to get his money.
