Cisco Kid: Review

Undistinguished western has Baxter in the title role. The story has three main buoys, around which everything else swirls, Lowe's pursuit of Baxter, Baxter's robbing of a bank to save a widow's ranch, and Baxter's affection for the widow's children. The last causes Baxter to return after a getaway to confront Lowe, when he thinks he hurt one of the tots during the escape. Lowe, however, explains himself and lets Baxter go free to boot. Baxter had won an Oscar for his portrayal of the happy-go-lucky Mexican bandit in his first sound film two years before, IN OLD ARIZONA, and was to repeat the role once more after this one.
