They tried so hard to make this interesting. It's one more go-around on the Watergate participants. More money has been made by those involved with that scandal than anyone might imagine. ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN set the tone, then Liddy had his WILL done on TV, then Erlichman's thinly veiled story appeared, and on and on. In BORN AGAIN Colson (played by Jones) realizes the error of his ways and is born again. His faith sustains him through his prison term. In this sympathetic script Colson emerges as an innocent who is drawn into the devious machinations of Washington without his actually engaging in anything untoward. Viewers will wonder how, if Colson was as innocent as this movie purports, he can have been convicted, sent to jail, written the book, and had a movie made of the book. If there were nothing to the allegations, would you be reading this review, in fact? Pretty good imitation of Nixon by Spillman--but when too many look-alikes get into a scene, it begins to resemble a late-night TV sketch.
