A determined Neal descends upon Washington, lobbying for the dying condors in California. She comes across Washington party-crasher Gwenn (he forges his own invitations to social functions), which enables her to meet Mature. Mature is working for an oil company that wants the land the
birds are on. Neal woos Mature and gets him to help her cause. Gwenn adds some light touches along with some heavy moments when he is investigated for bribery.
