Probably the best known of the spate of "beach party" films of the 1960s, BEACH BLANKET BINGO provides 100 minutes of silly, mildly amusing entertainment if you're in the right mood. There's trouble in teen paradise when Frankie (Avalon) and Dee Dee (Funicello) clash over his infatuation
with singer Sugar Kane (Evans). Meanwhile, a mermaid falls in love with nitwit surfer Bonehead (McCrea), and the nefarious Eric Von Zipper (Lembeck) and his Rat Pack kidnap Sugar. Don Rickles, Buster Keaton, Paul Lynde and others are also on hand, sandwiching their shtick between the musical
numbers from Frankie, Annette, and their scantily clad pals.
