Few American filmmakers now bother with the comedy of manners, a genre nearly as endangered as the musical. Whit Stillman's second feature, however, is the real McCoy, a gossamer blend of chagrin d'amour, musical beds, and translation errors in the language of love. During the last years of the Cold War in Spain, the orderly existence of an expatriate American salesman (Taylor Nichols), is jeopardized by the unexpected arrival of his disruptive cousin (Christopher Eigeman).
