Apocalypse Now Redux: Review

More than a conventional re-release with some additional footage, it's a rethinking of Francis Ford Coppola's hallucinatory Vietnam War masterpiece. Coppola often toyed with the idea of returning to it, and in March 2001, he and editor/sound designer Walter Murch went back to the original dailies and spent six months remaking the film in the editing room, adding entire sequences, lengthening others and incorporating unused music composed by Coppola's late father into the soundtrack.
