Ted Mikels, the creator of such memorable bad movies as THE ASTROZOMBIES (1967) and BLOOD ORGY OF THE SHE-DEVILS (1973), returned to the scene with this exercise in exploitative cinema. The title women (there never seem to be more than eight of them) are coal miners who grow tired of
laboring in the mines and begin a crime spree. A jewelry store heist comes off perfectly, but their fence (Mikels himself) trades them cocaine for the gems, and when they try to deal the dope, they are arrested by narcotics agents. In jail they are submitted to the usual indignities found in
women-in-prison movies, including the obligatory large, sadistic lesbian guard. Thoroughly good-natured trash.
