Watercooler: Who's Our Next Food Network Star?

Next Food Network Star

Let's get ready for an Aarti Paarti!

Last night, the tasty reality show that never gets enough attention crowned its sixth winner and wow, was it a close one. Aarti, Tom and Herb all whipped up impressive pilots, wowed the focus-group crowd and, in the words of Food Network senior VP of programming Bob Tuschman, "made it very, very tough" for the selection committee to pick.

Yet pick they did ... read more

Ask Matt: Vampire Diaries, The Middle, Pillars, Spoilers, Emmys and More

The Vampire Diaries

Question: I've only recently started watching The Vampire Diaries, as I wanted to wait for the overall reception of Season 1. But once I started, I got fully sucked in and I'm absolutely loving it now. [POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT] However, I'm having a hard time letting go of my lovely namesake Anna. With her ambivalent personality traits and the story line she was given, I thought she was one of the most interesting characters on the show. I have to admit that her demise in the finale hit me quite hard. Is there really no chance at all that she survived somehow? — Anna

Matt Roush: Looked to me like she was a goner, but you know how it goes on shows like this: Just because you die, or die again as the case may be, doesn't necessarily mean you're dead for good. And even if she did bite the eternal dust, I'd think there's potential for some juicy flashbacks as we get more of everyone's back story. And don't you imagine she'd at the very least haunt Jeremy's dreams? Beyond that, I haven't a clue whether we'll see Anna again, as I refuse to get ahead of the story, especially on shows like this. From a critical point of view, though, it's important to believe that characters like this can actually perish even in a supernatural series, or there'd be nothing at stake (pun unintended). Keeps you caring, I'd think... read more

Roush Review: Grading The Big C

The Big C

Who's up for a death comedy jam? Don't everybody raise their hands at once.

Leave it to an adventurous network like Showtime to develop a series that confronts the age-old maxim about how "dying is easy but comedy is hard." That's certainly the case with The Big C, an affecting yet uneven tragicomedy that comes to life whenever its heroine confronts her mortality but tends to die any time the story line goes overboard on the wackiness... read more

Antonio Sabato Jr.

So what if the Bones powers that be couldn't get The Situation from MTV's Jersey Shore to cameo in their upcoming Jersey-themed installment. Big whoop. In my opinion, they've landed someone even hotter.

Keck's Exclusive: Grey's Anatomy Brings Back Mandy Moore's Character

Mandy Moore, Grey's Anatomy

Just when the doctors of Seattle Grace Mercy West are staring to get back to normal, they will receive a blast from the past reminding them of that horrible May day when a crazed gunman began killing doctors and nurses left and right.

Mandy Moore, so memorable in May's two-part season finale, returns to Grey's Anatomy in the sixth episode of its new season. Fans will recall Mandy's character, Mary (or Bloody Mary as I like to think of her), was the unfortunate patient coping with a colostomy bag when fate called upon her to assist Bailey... read more
