Backstage at Dancing With the Stars: Maks Makes Peace

Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya

Here's what you didn't see on Tuesday night's Dancing With the Stars after former NFLer Kurt Warner was drop-kicked from the show and the cameras stopped rolling: Pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy breaking away from the group hug around Warner, going to the judges' table and putting his arms around Carrie Ann Inaba, who had roundly criticized the beginning of his choreography on Monday night. They stayed that way for a long moment, talking privately into each other's ears.

It seemed to restore peace in the Dancing neighborhood, at least for now. Says Chmerkovskiy, explaining his unusually heated reaction to ... read more

Watercooler: Glee Takes on Bullies

Glee

How fitting that a cover of Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" was the best number in a Glee that addressed the teenage nightmare of bullying.

Gay bullying, to be specific: A topic that's been getting tons of attention lately due to a rash of abuse-related suicides among gay youths. Tragic. Needless. And sadly, an option considered by way too many kids who feel they have nowhere to turn, nor anyone in their corner. Sweetly, if a tad conveniently, the episode granted Kurt both of those things after the pressure of being regularly taunted by ... read more

Roush Review: Give Terriers a Chance

Michael Raymond-James and Donal Logue

Like a dog returning to a favorite bone, I can't stop singing the praises of FX's Terriers (Wednesdays at 10/9c), which has flown dangerously under the radar since premiering with little fanfare right after Labor Day. It's an easier series to love than it is to pigeonhole, which (along with a vague and misleading title) may explain why it has struggled to find a following beyond a passionate few. In a fall season that has been remarkable for so much unremarkable formula blandness at the network level, Terriers is the rare show whose endearingly messy and flawed characters get under your skin and stay there. ...

Poll: What's Your Opinion About Faith on TV?

Glee

Religion and faith have always had a place in primetime television. Sometimes, it's been dealt with directly, on shows like Touched By An Angel and 7th Heaven. And sometimes, it's shown more subtly, whether it's the Heck family going to church on The Middle or Finn seeing the face of Jesus in a grilled cheese sandwich on Glee. We'd like to know what you think about primetime's portrayal of religion, and whether television could use more or less of it. Let us know in the poll after the jump... read more

Royal Pains: Winter Season Scoop!

Royal Pains

USA will air the second half of Royal Pains' Season 2 beginning January 20, so fans don't have to wait until summer to hit the Hamptons again with HankMed. TV Guide Magazine went in search of scoop at The Paley Center for Media's screening and panel discussion, held November 8 in Los Angeles.

The first January episode takes place at a three-day charity golf tournament benefiting the hospital. Jill is on a team with a boozy couple (the woman is played by Amy Sedaris) and a once-promising pro hindered by a degenerative muscular disorder in his hand (Tom Cavanagh). While Hank tries to fix him, he practices his game on Jill. "In the first episode back, one of our own actually gets sick and Hank has to work his diagnostic magic," Reshma Shetty (Divya) teases. The medication leads to a few loopy hospital bed confessions and makes Hank rethink a past love-life decision... read more

Miranda Lambert Gets Ready to Rock the CMA Awards

Miranda Lambert

This year, Miranda Lambert will be throwing one heck of a birthday party. The country singer turns 27 on November 10 — the same night the Country Music Association hosts its 44th annual awards in Nashville. And the birthday girl just might walk away with a whole mess of shiny gifts: Lambert scored nine nominations, the most ever garnered by a female in a single year.

"It's ridiculous, isn't it?" Lambert says. "It hasn't really sunk in yet."

But there's no question the Texas native's brand of genuine country music has hit home with listeners... read more
