For Della Reese, tonight's Detroit 1-8-7 (10/9c, ABC) is a dual homecoming: The episode marks her return to both series TV and to her native Detroit. The 79-year-old actress, who resides in Los Angeles, hasn't appeared in network prime time since Touched by an Angel left the air in 2003, nor, she admits, has she visited Motown in 20 years.

If you're the type that tries to keep track of those perplexing stop-and-start cable schedules, you'll know December tis NOT the season for summer's sci-fi larks Eureka and Warehouse 13 to be airing new episodes. But Syfy programmers are playing Santa Tuesday night, and their gift is a back-to-back package of holiday-themed special originals of the channel's whimsical hit series. The votes are in. Supernatural, The CW's little horror show about two monster-hunting brothers, has won TV Guide Magazine's first-ever Fan Favorite cover contest. Cast members Jim Beaver and Misha Collins aided with Tweets, as did a panoply of websites devoted to the series. When the 5.5 million votes were tallied, an impressive last-minute surge pushed Supernatural over the top. "We promoted, promoted, promoted the contest," says Alice Jester, who runs the site thewinchesterfamilybusiness.com. "We had a link on the site, we had a daily presence on Twitter and Facebook, and when Jim and Misha Tweeted, it energized the fans even more," she reports. "The fans wanted a TV Guide cover so badly. The show gives us so much, and the fact that it's small and underappreciated makes us work hard to get others to know about it, too."

Which of the following do you believe is the best cartoon show for grown-ups?
Isn't it romantic? It sure is when Alyssa Milano takes on this twisty love story based on the James Patterson novel of the same name. Set in a snowy New York City at Christmastime, Sunday at Tiffany's centers on ...
Telling most actors that they look fit enough to play a role younger than their real age would be considered a compliment. Unless you're Scott Bakula. This season, on his TNT series Men of a Certain Age, the 56-year-old's character turns 50. And he's actually rather bummed about the idea. ...
Kyra Sedgwick lets out a big "Ha!" when asked how Brenda Leigh Johnson, the Georgia peach—turned—Los Angeles police babe she plays on The Closer, has changed after six seasons on TNT. "That's the wonderful and fun thing about Brenda," she says. "The woman really hasn't evolved."
On one level, Sedgwick is right. The Closer returns tonight for five episodes ending with ...
