American Idol's Secret Weapon: Marc Anthony

Naima Adedapo

Record-company executive Jimmy Iovine may be getting the lion's share of the credit for working with American Idol's Season 10 contestants. But the singers revealed after the show Wednesday nigh there is another music-industry heavyweight who's been coaching behind the scenes: Jennifer Lopez's husband, Marc Anthony.

"A lot of the struggle that had been going on in prior performances was that we hadn't adjusted to the 'In Ears,'" says Naima Adedapo, referring to the custom-made earpieces that singers often use to balance out sound levels when they're singing with a live band on a big stage... read more

Watercooler: Idol's La Dolce Pia!

Pia Toscano

Now we have a show, people!

A few weeks back, Watercooler gave some major love to American Idol's Casey Abrams, suggesting that he had all that it takes to take the title. But last night, shortly after Casey did just OK with his Motown choice, Pia Toscano turned in yet another killer ballad that made us go both "wow" and "well, she sure could walk off with the win."

Matt's Weekend Picks: March 25-27

Anna Torv

Fringe (Friday, 9/8c, Fox)
This entire season has been a tour de force for Anna Torv. Doing double duty as dueling Olivias from parallel warring universes, she most recently spent an episode channeling her inner Spock — aka Leonard Nimoy — as the ghostly soul of William Bell inhabited her body for a very clever outing. (In the climax, the dormant Olivia resurfaced briefly, freaking out Peter and the viewing audience.) This week, we're back in alt-world, as the pregnant Alt-livia faces mortal danger from several fronts. It's a very harrowing hour, deserving a far larger audience than it's likely to get, tucked away on Fridays. Fox, stand by this show!

Johns was on hand at Cartoon Network's upfront presentation in New York City on Wednesday morning to talk about "DC Nation," a programming initiative that will showcase DC's expansive library of characters. Set to debut in 2012, DC Nation will include shows like Green Lantern: The Animated Series, a CGI show coming this fall (springboarding off this summer's Ryan Reynolds film) and Young Justice: Invasion, a 10-episode miniseries spinning out of the original Young Justice... read more

Beau Garrett, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior

When Beau Garrett first auditioned for Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, she admits producers didn't think she was tough enough to play FBI Agent Gina LaSalle.
