The Walking Dead
AMC's sneak peek (which aired during Sunday night's Breaking Bad) of The Walking Dead's upcoming season shows Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) fighting off a couple of zombies. And he rocks out while doing it. Check out the skull fracturing:
Randy Senna is something of a local celebrity in the resort town of Wildwood, N.J., where he once ran a boardwalk game center called Flipper's Fascination. He's been the subject of profiles and a forthcoming documentary, in which he's generally regarded as an eccentric. Now, it turns out — at least according to Hoarders (Monday, 9/8c, A&E), he's a hoarder. You know how it goes: the medium is the diagnosis...
News bloopers! They are so fun! Even when they're as dry as this one (via Mediaite), featuring writer and man-about-the-intellect Michael Wolff, who's mistakenly thrown to for a BBC story on Roger Clemens' trial. After blinking quizzically when introduced as Ben Walker, the baseball editor for the Associated Press, the anchor assumes that his beamed-in guest can't hear him. Then Wolff chimes in...
Jazz from My Strange Addiction
Meet Jazz, one of the subjects profiled on this week's My Strange Addiction (Sunday, 10/9c, TLC). Jazz has been growing her fingernails for 22 years. Her longest is 24 inches long. How she isn't a local celebrity in Atlanta, where she lives, is beyond me. In fact, how she isn't the Queen of the World is beyond me. Like, why am I just hearing about this woman now? Why hasn't she been issued presidencies and Purple Hearts and Congressional Medals of Calcium and Nobel Cosmetic Prizes? She is amazing, and her hands are by far the wackiest things I've seen on TV all week (and I watch America's Got Talent, so that's really saying something)...
Rhett and Link
Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal of Commercial Kings (IFC, Fridays, 10/9c) often do this thing where they'll take a block of speech that sounds far from musical (or rhythmic, for that matter) and squeeze it into a song. Maybe the ultimate example of that is below, in which a Harry Potter love vlog from a self-described "fangirl...with a camera...being an amateur" becomes an emotional goodbye ballad (despite mosquitoes that threaten to take down the entire production)...
Echo the parrot
Good news for those who look to birds for entertainment: Echo, the parrot who killed his first America's Got Talent audition but clammed up with "stage fright" during the Vegas round, soared on the season's first live show Tuesday night. Fun fact: birds don't just fly "Over the Rainbow"; they sing it as well. I think we can all agree that Echo is a very nice analog alternative to all the CGI talking animals that populate pop culture...
Not even those sequestered in the Big Brother house are immune to Harry Potter fever, what with it being Harry Potter Week and all thanks to the Friday release of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 2. As seen on the show's live feed, veteran Jeff and newcomer Kalia recently got into it over J.K. Rowling's years-old revelation that Dumbledore was gay...
Want some reality with your reality TV? Look no further than this clip from Repo Games (Tuesdays, 11/10c, Spike), in which a disgruntled man who lives close to where the show was being shot opens fire and sends the cast and crew scattering...
If the only information about OCD came from Howie Mandel, I would think that talking about having it was its worst symptom. He's practically turned an affliction into shtick! Anyway, he mentioned it again on his Tonight Show with Jay Leno appearance Monday night to promote the start of the live rounds on America's Got Talent. He also came out in an Elizabethan collar for no reason other than to be wacky. What a card!...
