Eric Braeden, Melody Thomas Scott
He didn't mean to throw the Twitterverse into a tizzy. Many fans of CBS's The Young and the Restless — at least the noisy ones on social media — were thrilled when news broke last week that controversial head writer Josh Griffith had exited the show. One fan on Twitter asked Y&R's alpha-dog star Eric Braeden (Victor) his opinion of Griffith's departure and Braeden tweeted back: "I'm very pissed off!!! Enough said!!!" That stunned a lot of folks who apparently assumed the Emmy-winning actor — currently on the back burner like a lot of other beloved Y&R vets — would be doing cartwheels at the prospect of a writer change. TV Guide Magazine sat down with Braeden to find out what he's really thinking — and get more out of him than 140 characters!
We knew this day would come. Last May, the soap community mourned the death of 84-year-old Jeanne Cooper, the great Emmy-winning star of The Young and the Restless. Now it's time to say goodbye to her character, Katherine Chancellor. In episodes airing Sept. 3 and 4, the citizens of Genoa City — past and present — will gather at Chancellor Park, a sprawling new set for the CBS soap, where they will pay their final respects to "the Duchess."
Among the stars returning for the flashback-packed ...
Tyne Stecklein, Finola Hughes and Kinna McInroe
She got her start as John Travolta's icy, superdiva love interest in the Saturday Night Fever sequel Staying Alive and now, 30 years later, Finola Hughes is back in the dance world with a role — as a god-awful dance mom! — in the just-wrapped indie feature Platinum: The Dance Movie. TV Guide Magazine sat down with the Emmy-winning General Hospital star to get the hot dish.
This hurts. The spectacular Eileen Davidson has chosen to leave her role as whackjob villainess Kristen DiMera on NBC's Days of Our Lives and will last be seen during November sweeps. TV Guide Magazine landed the first exit interview with the actress, who reveals why she's taking a hike from a gig that's winning her wide acclaim. How come Days didn't try to keep her? Will she return to CBS's The Young and the Restless and her role as Ashley Abbott? And why, dear God, are you doing this to us?
She's still lying in a coma on The Young and the Restless but, in real life, two-time Emmy winner Michelle Stafford is kicking ass and taking names — as always. Her new comedy webseries The Stafford Project (MichelleStafford.com), which debuts Aug. 5, skewers reality TV, Hollywood agents and even Stafford's own adorably sad love life. TV Guide Magazine scored an exclusive sneak peek at the first two episodes and a one-on-one with the lady herself, who tells us why she has chosen to...
Mother knows best — but it's making Days of Our Lives' Adrienne Kiriakis a pariah in her own family. The hell-bent matriarch, played by Emmy winner Judi Evans, is determined to get her gay son, Sonny (Freddie Smith), away from his lover, Will (Chandler Massey), and that has the two young men — and their many fans — in a tizzy. Won't anyone come to Adrienne's defense? Evans will! TV Guide Magazine spoke with the luminous star about her sudden "villainy" and the unusual, real-world job that keeps her in life in check. Get this: She's in the funeral biz!
TV Guide Magazine: How did your character go from totally cool supermom to Salem's public enemy No. 1?
She's been held hostage in a cage, imprisoned in an abandoned zoo and even buried alive. Now The Young and the Restless' Lauren Fenmore — played by Emmy winner Tracey E. Bregman — has been kidnapped by her crazed ex-lover Carmine (Marco Dapper), who has her stashed away in a mountain cabin. Look for a violent clash between Carmine and Lauren's hubby Michael (Christian LeBlanc) on Monday, July 29 — with a twisty conclusion! TV Guide Magazine spoke with Bregman about her character's latest brush with mortality, her cool new lifestyle blog and why she's looking so damn good at 50!
Karla Mosley and Lawrence Saint-Victor
CBS is about to make a little suds history. TV Guide Magazine has exclusively learned that Room 8, the fictional web series currently featured on the network's daytime soap The Bold and the Beautiful, will be launched as a real online series on August 8 via the website Room8TheSeries.com.
Lawrence Saint-Victor, Jeff Schroeder, Karla Mosley
As one of the most popular players in Big Brother history, Jeff Schroeder has been exposed to a whole lot of lying, cheating and backstabbing — so he should fit right in at a daytime soap! TV Guide Magazine has learned that the reality-show fave and CBS.com host will be seen on The Bold and the Beautiful August 27 in sequences involving the production of Room 8, the show-within-a-show starring Maya (Karla Mosley) and Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor). Schroeder gave us the lowdown on his suds gig, the state of his romance with Big Brother 11 winner Jordan Lloyd and, of course, those scandals that have been rocking Big Brother 15!
