Two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Dan Wheldon died after a fiery crash at the Las Vegas speedway Sunday, The Associated Press reports.

Wheldon's car burst into flames when it flew over another car and hit a wall on 13th lap of the Las Vegas 300. Drivers were informed of Wheldon's death two hours after the 15-car wreck. Wheldon, who was 33, won the Indy 500 this year and 2005.

Sue Mengers, one of the most influential Hollywood agents during the 1960s, '70s and '80s, died following several small strokes, Vanity Fair reports. She claimed to be 78 years old, but some sources said she was 81.

According to Vanity Fair Editor Graydon Carter, Mengers died Saturday at her Beverly Hills home surrounded by close friends, Ali MacGraw, Joanna Poitier (wife of Sidney) and Boaty Boatwright.

Cliff Robertson, who won an Oscar for playing mentally disabled man in the 1968 film Charly and later played Ben Parker in the Spider-Man films, has died. He was 88.

Robertson died of natural causes on Saturday in Long Island, one day after his 88th birthday, Evelyn Christel, Robertson's secretary for 53 years, told The Associated Press.

Treme Actor Found Dead in Mississippi River

Michael Showers, an actor who recurred on HBO's Treme, was found dead on Wednesday. He was 45.

Showers was pulled from the Mississippi River in New Orleans after a steamboat captain spotted his body, a police spokesman told The Times-Picayune. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death, but Showers had been in the water about two days, a coroner determined.
