Inside the Last-Minute Scramble to Save Community

Community

"Six seasons and a movie" almost didn't happen. As June drew to a close, time was running out to save Community, which NBC had canceled in May. Talks to move the comedy to streaming service Hulu were falling apart, the deal options to keep the show's cast intact expired at the end of the month, and much of the crew and key writers had already moved on to new jobs. Even the comedy's offices on the studio lot had been taken over by a new series: Grace and Frankie, Netflix's upcoming sitcom starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.

"When a show is canceled, it's usually canceled," says Sony Pictures Television programming president Zack Van Amburg, whose company produces Community. read more

Parenthood Debate: Should Amber Be Pregnant?

Mae Whitman, Matt Lauria

To be or not to be ... pregnant: That is the question facing the writers of Parenthood as the show prepares to kick off its final season this fall. Aside from the hotly debated question of how she and on-and-off love Ryan (Matt Lauria) could have even had sex in his hospital bed in the first place — we're with you, Ray Romano — Amber was spotted buying a pregnancy test in the final act. While the writers begin to decide where the final 13 episodes will take the Braverman clan, we thought we'd help them out by devising a pro-con list of whether Amber... read more

Mads Mikkelsen

How did it take everyone so long to discover that Hannibal is a cannibal? Seriously.

Throughout Hannibal's two seasons, Dr. Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) demonstrated a penchant for wordplay and thinly veiled allusions to his unorthodox diet. Yet when Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) first posed the theory of Hannibal's cannibalism, the FBI acted as though he were the crazy one. Say what? Hannibal practically confessed in every episode! Ignoring those cannibal puns is what was actually crazy.

I can't believe they killed President Heller on 24: Live Another Day! What does this mean for Jack? — Jackie
It's safe to assume that Jack's role in Heller's death will mean major drama between Jack and Heller's daughter Audrey. "Jack's question when this is all over is, 'Can he go back with Audrey? Is there a chance for the two of them?'"executive producer Evan Katz says.
