Has Bieber Fever struck again? Just when ratings for MTV's new scripted comedy The Hard Times of RJ Berger most needed a boost, Justin Bieber may have helped bring in a crowd.
To wit, MTV has renewed Hard Times for a second season, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively. The decision comes after a recent upswing in viewership that coincides with the 16-year-old pop superstar endorsing it as "funny stuff." Twelve new episodes will premiere sometime next year.

Shortly after the arrest of Jersey Shore's Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi on Friday, the reality star was released from custody, according to Seaside Heights Police.

In MTV's new series If You Really Knew Me (Tuesday at 11/10c), students participate in a one-day program called Challenge Day that tries to break down the walls among these different circles. Leikin, who's featured in the series premiere, tells TVGuide.com that although she was nervous about opening up on camera, every response and reaction from her peers "was completely honest." The 18-year-old, who attends Freedom High School in Oakley, Calif., talks about what she gained from participating in the series and if Challenge Day managed to ease tensions among the groups.

When MTV first debuted 16 and Pregnant, viewers got a glimpse of different pregnant teenagers and their first few weeks as a mom. Among those girls was Maci who, along with 20-month-old son Bentley and boyfriend Ryan, went on to star in the spinoff series Teen Mom.
