31 Grammy Categories Slashed; New Voting Rules Revealed

The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences has overhauled the Grammy Awards, reducing the number of categories by 31.

In its first overhaul in its 53-year history, NARAS trimmed the categories from 109 to 78. (Guess that makes our win last year for Best Contemporary Latin Tropical Jazz Album worthless.) The silver lining: Work that would've fallen under eradicated categories will be submitted elsewhere.

Reporter Serene Branson's On-Air Slurring Caused by "Complex Migraine"

Los Angeles reporter Serene Branson's garbled speech on air Sunday night was caused by a "complex migraine," her doctor told the Los Angeles Times

According to Dr. Neil Martin, chief of neurosurgery at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, a complex migraine can mimic the symptoms of a stroke, including headache, weakness, loss of vision and difficulty speaking. Martin spoke to the Times with Branson's permission.

Jennifer Lopez is in demand in 2011. Not only did she join the American Idol judging panel for the show's 10th season, but she and husband Marc Anthony received a surprise invitation to the Super Bowl, complete with Secret Service.

In the disturbing video, Branson started off her report by saying "a very, very heavy," but then devolving into gibberish. The network cut to an earlier report while they sought medical attention for Branson.
