CSI Welcomes Ted Danson, Prepares to Say Goodbye to Marg Helgenberger

Marg Helgenberger, Jorja Fox, Ted Danson

The addition of Ted Danson to the CSI cast won't be the only change taking place on the veteran CBS drama in Season 12.

Danson's character, D.B. Russell, is a family man who was raised by hippies and has a healthy relationship with his work. As such, producers suggest that the new season will feature a sunnier tone. "Last season we were chasing a serial killer ... that arc has come to an end," executive producer Carol Mendelsohn said at CBS' fall TV previews. "With the introduction of our new CSI supervisor who has his own process, I think you can say it's a lighter season."

Danson replaces the departing Laurence Fishburne, whose character was last seen ... read more

2 Broke Girls' Broke Girls Are Actually Broke

2 Broke Girls

When CBS says 2 Broke Girls, they mean it.

Unlike other shows — where the characters have superficial money troubles, but still possess the trappings of wealth — 2 Broke Girls plans to base its two leading ladies' economic troubles in realism. "In most sitcoms, someone works in a coffee shop and they live in a huge, gorgeous New York brownstone and... read more

First Look: Ryan Murphy's "Psychosexual Thriller" American Horror Story: It's No Glee!

Dylan McDermott, Taissa Farmiga and Connie Britton

Glee fans, this one may not be for you. To paraphrase series co-creator and executive producer Ryan Murphy, if Nip/Tuck was about transformation, and Glee is about underdogs, his next show, American Horror Story, is a portrait of marriage.

Well, that and other things that should scare the sh-- out of you.

Ryan Murphy talks new FX show American Horror Story: Everyone was freaked out by the creature

The show, Murphy's first since Glee, introduces us to the fragile Harmon family: Ben (Dylan McDermott), a therapist, and his wife Vivien (Connie Britton) move with their daughter Violet (Taissa Farmiga) to Los Angeles after Ben makes a terrible mistake that jeopardizes their family. The only problem? Their maybe-haunted new house may not be the best place to start over.

Murphy and series co-creator and executive producer Brad Falchuk unveiled a rough cut of the first episode of the FX show to TV reporters Tuesday, describing it as a read more

How will Jim and Pam handle the new baby on The Office? — Marisa
NATALIE:
With Pam's hormones in overdrive, she won't know who to trust, causing her to seek out an unlikely ally. "She's clearly in a position where everyone is lying to her to make her feel better, except for Dwight, and she starts to think he's the only person she can trust," executive producer Paul Lieberstein says. After she gives birth, though, it'll be Jim who has problems. "Usually, he wants to get out of work, but it might be a little easier for him at work than at home."
