Emmys: What Do You Think of the Show?

The 61st Annual Emmy Awards

Tonight's the night, folks! Emmys host Neil Patrick Harris — who's also a nominee for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy — has promised many surprises for the 61st annual awards, including performances from the Emmy-winning Internet experiment Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, Dancing with the Stars' Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff and Sarah MacLachlan. (Look for "I Will Remember You" during the In Memoriam segment.) John "I'm a PC!" Hodgman is rumored to be the official announcer. It all sounds very exciting — we can't wait!

Chris Harrison: Time to Get to Work

Chris Harrison

Okay kids, this is it. Time to strap on the monkey suit, grab the lunch pail and get to work. This has been a hectic but exciting Emmy week. It's been extremely fun working closely with my partner, Carrie Ann Inaba, laying the groundwork for what we hope will be a fantastic, entertaining show for you Sunday night.

I guess it's my athletic background, but I've always approached big days and big shows just like I did big games. You prepare really hard early on but in the days leading up to the show, you gotta shut it down. For the last few weeks, I've been ... read more

Carrie Ann Inaba on Her Dream Interviews at the Emmys

Carrie Ann Inaba

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is doing well and having a fun pre-Emmy week like I am. The Emmys are almost here!!!!!!!!!! Have you all chosen your dress to wear at home? It doesn't have to be quite as glamorous as the ones we wear when we walk the Red Carpet, but why not make a day of it? Invite your friends over and get dressed up! Put on the lashes, the tanning cream, the heels (well, forget the heels, you don't need to wear them), get your hair done and then grab a container of popcorn and join Chris and me as we take you right into the excitement that is the EMMYS!

I always think it's more fun when you have someone to turn to and say... read more

Chris Harrison on Fake Interviews, Lucky Charms and His "Great Partnership" with Carrie Ann

I want to start this blog with a little homage to Patrick Swayze. I know a lot has been written and said since his death Monday afternoon. I will just add this, Point Break, Roadhouse... thanks Patrick.

I wasn't sure how the TVGuide.com blog thing would work, but I love that you can leave your comments below. I agree with those of you that love Jon Cryer and, yes, the duck man will always live on. Jon really is a great guy, and you might be surprised to find that he's a pretty darn good athlete. I did the Malibu Triathlon with him last year, and he whipped my butt.

As for the few of you that took the time to say you don't enjoy red carpet shows, I say this to you... read more

Chris Harrison Dishes on Prepping for the Emmy Red Carpet

Chris Harrison

I'm very excited it's Emmy week, but I do have to admit I have a little hitch in my giddy-up (sorry for the Texas slang). Sunday, I took part in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon, so as long as I don't have to run up the red carpet this week I'm good. A quick thanks to all my friends on team Disney and a big thanks to all those that raised money for Children's Hospital. This has become one of my favorite events of the year and I'm already looking forward to next year.

Now it's time to get to work on the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards. I can't tell you how happy... read more

Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff will have one last dance — and it's not on Dancing with the Stars.

Though they called off their engagement earlier this week, the exes are set to perform together at the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards on Sept. 20, CBS announced. They will be part of a segment ...
