Madonna on Remarrying: I'd Rather Be Hit By a Train

Madonna says she would "rather get run over by a train" than get remarried.

On Wednesday night's Late Show with David Letterman, she also cracked that there were things to be thankful for while being married to filmmaker Guy Ritchie: At least she was out of the United States for the "Bush years."

After she made her entrance on the backs of a few New York Rangers, Letterman quipped, "Have you ever ridden hockey players before?" _ an apparent jab at her reported relationship with A-Rod of the New York Yankees.

Jon & Kate Announcement: "We've Decided to Separate"

Jon and Kate Gosselin

Hours after filing for divorce, Jon and Kate Gosselin announced the decision on their show, Jon & Kate Plus 8, saying they had decided to "separate" and were trying to do what was best for their children.

Interviewing separately, both parents used the word "separate" — not divorce. But late in the episode, on-screen text said they had filed Monday for the "dissolution" of their marriage.

Kate said she wasn't "fond" of the idea and was most worried about her children. "How they'll be another statistic," she said. "How they'll be the kids looking back and saying, 'My parents split up when I was fill-in-the-blank age.' That's primarily it, but for myself I don't really want to be alone. I don't want to do this alone, but it's required and I've got to do it."

"It's life, it's a roller coaster. Sometimes it goes off the track," Jon added. "I don't hate Kate, but y'know. I just have to do what's best for me and my kids."
