Set in the children's ward of a Los Angeles hospital, Red Band Society (premieres Wednesday, 9/8c, Fox) is about an unlikely group of friends who've come together — some begrudgingly — to face their life-threatening sicknesses. Zoe Levin, Charlie Rowe, Brian "Astro" Bradley, Ciara Bravo and Nolan Sotillo make up the Breakfast Club-like gang, while Griffin Gluck stars as a coma patient from whose perspective and narrative the story is told.

O'Donnell plays the strict but compassionate social worker and house mom at Girls United who became a mentor to Callie (Maia Mitchell) when she was living there. O'Donnell appeared in five episodes in Season 1 and reprised her role for two more earlier this season, guiding Callie as she found her birth father Robert (Kerr Smith). ABC Family declined to comment.
