Burn Notice star Jeffrey Donovan was arrested for DUI in Miami Beach after almost hitting a stopped police car, according to the police report.

Donovan was arrested in the early hours of July 12 after failing field sobriety tests. The actor refused a Breathalyzer test, according to the police report.

The arresting officer was stopped at a red light when he "heard a loud tire screech" and observed Donovan's vehicle swerving to the left to avoid striking the rear of the police cruiser. When the officer approached Donovan, the actor said, "Sorry, I didn't see the red light or your stopped car," according to the report.

The Beastie Boys' Adam "MCA" Yauch has a "very treatable" form of cancer that will force the group to cancel all upcoming performances and delay the release of its upcoming album, Yauch and his bandmates said in a statement.

The group said Yauch, 44, was diagnosed last week with a cancerous tumor in his left salivary gland. He said it would not affect his vocal chords.

Frank McCourt, Pulitzer-Winning Memoirist, Dies at 78

Frank McCourt

Frank McCourt, a teacher who in his sixties wrote a memoir of his desperately poor Irish childhood that became the Pulitzer Prize-winning Angela's Ashes, has died. He was 78.

McCourt, whose novel was adapted into a 1999 film of the same name, died of metastatic melanoma, said his brother, actor and writer Malachy McCourt. Frank McCourt, who lived in New York City and Roxbury, Conn., died Sunday, The New York Times reported.
