Beast Ends Season, But is the Show Over as Well?

The Beast

The Beast's season finale airs Thursday (10 pm/ET, A&E,), but whether it's also the series finale of the Patrick Swayze drama remains to be seen.

Nothing has been decided about the fate of the show, in which Swayze plays an undercover FBI agent, a series rep says. Any decision, of course, relies on the more important fate of the show's star, who has battled pancreatic cancer since early last year. read more

Heroes' Adrian Pasdar: Fewer Episodes Will Be Better for Viewers

Adrian Pasdar, Heroes

At least one Heroes cast member thinks the news that NBC is cutting the show's fourth-season episode count is a good thing.

Adrian Pasdar, who plays flying U.S. Senator Nathan Petrelli, said after working on such a long production schedule this season, shooting only 18 episodes will be "a relief."

"If things start shifting around, they can always add more at the end, but doing 25 episodes this year was nearly 11 months of work," he said. "We love the work, but in order for the quality to be maintained, you can't just keep grinding it out.

"The pacing will be a little better — we were sometimes shooting three episodes at once, and there's no way that something doesn't slip through the cracks," Pasdar said.  "It just gets crazy."

Stage Musical Planned to Honor Jade Goody

Jade Goody

The life of the late British reality TV star Jade Goody will be memorialized in a stage musical, her former business partner says.

Danny Hayward told BBC News that although a movie about Goody's life has also been suggested, the musical is a more appropriate tribute.

"Her dream as a little girl was to be in a musical, so obviously when she passed away it felt fitting to do something like this," Hayward said. He plans to hold open casting calls for the lead role in the coming weeks.

"Jade was just an ordinary girl and the person who plays her will reflect that," Hayward said. "The most important thing is to give someone a break, just like she got."

Goody rose to notoriety after appearing on the British version of Big Brother. She died at age 27 in March after a battle with cervical cancer.
