Jon & Kate Plus 8 returns Monday from hiatus with brand new, post-split episodes that were handled with "great care and thoughtfulness" in light of Jon and Kate Gosselin's divorce, according to TLC.

"Our approach to the circumstance was simple: to cover the family with great care and thoughtfulness as they dealt with a subject that is all too familiar to many American families today," Eileen O'Neill, TLC president and general manager, said at the Television Critics Association panel Thursday. "We will continue to capture this family's journey in a respectful and sensitive way."

Carrie Ann Inaba Dishes on New Hosting Gig, Reveals Dancing Cast Wishes

Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba is adding another title to her already lengthy résumé: host. The one-time Fly Girl will team up with Bachelorette host Chris Harrison to anchor TV Guide Network's red carpet coverage, which kicks off at the Emmys on Sept. 20. "I'm excited for the opportunity for the people at home, who know me as this judge on Dancing with the Stars, to see me in a different light on the red carpet," Inaba tells TVGuide.com. Katherine Jackson Gets Custody of MJ's Kids

Michael Jackson's mother, Katherine, has drafted an agreement with Deborah Rowe that designates Jackson as the guardian of the pop legend's three children and allows Rowe visitation rights with the older two children.

The agreement, which will be presented to a Los Angeles superior court for approval Aug. 3, allows Rowe to visit with the two older children, to whom she gave birth while married to Michael Jackson. The time and frequency of the visits will be determined by a child psychologist hired jointly by Katherine Jackson and Rowe.

NBC Taps House Creator to Remake Rockford Files

NBC has turned to House creator David Shore to develop a remake of the 1970s cop drama The Rockford Files.

The original series — which starred James Garner as Jim Rockford, an ex-convict private eye who worked cases out of his trailer in Malibu — ran for six years and put writer-producer Stephen J. Cannell on the map. Garner's performance also earned him an Emmy.

Turner Defends CNN's Ratings Reach, Promotes New TBS Talk Show

CNN may be losing ground in the battle for cable news ratings, but the network's cross-platform reach is second to none.

That was the message CNN president Jon Klein put forth Wednesday at Turner Broadcasting's three-hour panel during the Television Critics Association press tour, according to TheWrap.com. When factoring in broadband traffic, 117.2 million tune into CNN weekly via one platform or another, according to Nielsen.

When measured by the same criteria, MSNBC is CNN's closest competitor with 99.4 million users each week. Fox News ranks third in cross-platform reach with 98.2 million users, though it still dominates CNN among traditional TV ratings. Even so, Klein said his network ... read more
