White House Reporter Helen Thomas Retires After Controversial Comments

Longtime White House reporter Helen Thomas announced her immediate retirement on Monday following  the controversy stemming from her comments on Israel, according to her employer, Hearst News Service.

Last week, during a White House event, Thomas told a rabbi that Jews should "get the hell out of Palestine" and go back to Germany and Poland, according to the Washington Post. Her remarks were caught on tape and quickly spread across the internet.

Starz Acquires Torchwood

Starz has acquired the U.S. television rights to BBC's hit franchise Torchwood, the cable channel announced Monday.

Joseph Fiennes, Eva Green lead Camelot cast

A new 10-episode season will debut exclusively on Starz in the U.S. and on BBC One in the U.K. during summer 2011. Past seasons of Torchwood have aired in the U.S. on BBC America.

Cast members from the previous versions of Torchwood — including John Barrowman (Capt. Jack Harkness) and Eve Myles (Gwen Cooper) — will return for the new version. Russell T. Davies, who created the Doctor Who spin-off in 2006, will serve as the showrunner.
