Spooky films Saw 3D and Paranormal Activity 2 took the top spots at the box office over Halloween weekend.
The premiere of the Saw franchise's seventh installment took in $22.5 million, Box Office Mojo reports, while the Paranormal sequel finished second, bringing in $16.5 million in its second weekend. Its two-week take totals $66.6 million.

"The most compelling part of the series is how emotionally involved you become in these characters' lives," executive producer Gale Anne Hurd (Terminator, Aliens) tells TVGuide.com.
