S. Epatha Merkerson Joins CBS Drama Pilot

S. Epatha Merkerson

Law & Order alum S. Epatha Merkerson has joined CBS' untitled medical drama pilot from Susannah Grant, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The project follows a competitive surgeon (Patrick Wilson), whose life is changed forever when his ex-wife (Jennifer Ehle) dies and begins teaching him about life from the hereafter. Merkerson will play Wilson's administrative assistant. read more

Elizabeth Taylor Dies at 79

Dame Elizabeth Taylor, the two-time Oscar winner and dedicated AIDS activist whose acting prowess, glitzy lifestyle and larger-than-life celebrity established her as Hollywood royalty, has died. She was 79.

Taylor died Wednesday at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles surrounded by her four children, Taylor's rep said. Battling ill health and scoliosis in her later years, Taylor had been hospitalized for the past six weeks for congestive heart failure. She underwent a heart procedure to repair a leaky valve in October 2009.

Syfy Announces 2011 Schedule

Syfy network has unveiled its jam-packed 2011 lineup, which includes the premiere of the scripted ensemble drama Alphas.
