Golden Globe Awards
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association says a lawsuit filed by a former Golden Globes publicist alleging "payola schemes" is "completely without merit."
"This is no more than the case of a disgruntled former consulting firm, whose contract was not renewed, attempting to take advantage once again of the Globes' international stage for their own gain," the HFPA said in a statement.
Beyond Scared Straight
The debut of A&E's new unscripted show, Beyond Scared Straight, attracted 3.7 million viewers, making it the network's most-watched series to date.
Based on the Emmy and Academy Award-winning documentary Scared Straight!, the series profiles unique approaches to juvenile crime prevention in prisons around the United States. Thursday's premiere was set in a women's prison in Central California.
Mad Love, Judy Greer
CBS's new romantic comedy, Mad Love, lost cast member Lizzy Caplan before the series was picked up, but executive producer Matt Tarses says her replacement, Judy Greer, is a much better fit.
Caplan signed on for a role in the pilot. Due to her commitments on the since-canceled Starz series Party Down, Caplan declined to join Mad Love as a series regular.
