Dancing's Maks: Kirstie's Kiss Was a Total Surprise

Maksim Chmerkovskiy

Hi everyone!

Hope you had a great week. Thanks for voting for us!

I thought our quickstep was a lot of fun. And the kiss was a total surprise! I'm not kidding. We never even talked about doing it in rehearsals. But I think it made sense at the end there. Kirstie's funny. She's a comedienne and she went for it. It was as shocking to me as it was to everyone else. It was funny and fun. I think it shows that we have an amazing relationship and everything's going well ...

But then, so are the pranks — it's now customary on this not-quite-special day for major companies, services and personalities to run outlandish claims of inventions, advances and changes. If there's truth in every lie, the best April Fool's Day e-pranks are just slightly distorted mirrors aimed back at us in a moderately fun house. Seven examples of truly clever work follow...

Sela Ward and Sydney Park, CSI: NY

Sela Ward recalls being completely out of her element when she joined the cast of CSI: NY.

CSI: NY returns on a new night with a new face

"I had come from all those relationship shows, where I knew everything about love and breaking up and raising children. And I had to learn really fast about murder and bludgeoning and dismembering and gunshots and all this bloody gore," Ward tells TVGuide.com with a laugh. "So it was really trial by fire. The first couple weeks...  I didn't know what planet I had dropped onto, but now I am just loving it. I'm having a blast."

Even though the two-time Emmy winner has learned the language of a network procedural, she says she still yearns to do character work. This Friday's episode (9/8c on CBS) offers up both when Jo's adopted daughter, Ellie (Syndey Park), is a witness to the murder of the week... read more
