The Office, Steve Carell
On Thursday, viewers will say goodbye (and probably one or two final "that's what she saids") to Steve Carell as he prepares to exit The Office. But how did we get here? Since the first season, all Michael Scott has ever wanted was to get married and reproduce ("100 kids" so he would have "100 friends," to be exact), but there were times when most fans — and most of his co-workers — didn't think he'd have such a...
What a difference a week makes on American Idol. Just seven days ago, the contestants were singing hits from the past decade, including a couple currently on the charts. Tonight, the singers gently swayed me to sleep with the delightfully dated tunes of Carole King. Don't get me wrong: She's written a number of great songs, this just seems like an odd theme week for the so-called "new and improved" Idol. (But hey, the slightly-less-dated Babyface is there! And Miley Cyrus!)
In addition to the six singers, we also got three mostly uneventful duets, though one of them was just plain disastrous. While no one's solo was terrible, it wasn't exactly the show's finest hour (and a half). Let's break it down....
Shane West and Maggie Q
First comes love, so is marriage far behind? Now that Michael and Nikita are together, can these two crazy Division rogues make it as a couple?
"Oh yes, Mikita," Nikita star Shane West tells a group of reporters over coffee. "We love it. The fact that the fans reacted so quickly to that relationship was great. We're stunned by the fan reaction. We have a fan who sent Mikita posters that are phenomenal."
The final showdown begins!

Katie Holmes has reached a settlement with Star Magazine after slapping them with a $50 million libel lawsuit last month for implying that she was a drug addict, Entertainment Weekly reports.
Katie Holmes sues Star Magazine for drug addiction allegations
In the lawsuit against American Media Inc., Holmes said the cover that featured the headline "Katie DRUG SHOCKER!" was not true and not supported by the story itself. The story said Holmes was "trapped in a cycle of addictive treatments" and also implied that she was thinking of splitting from husband Tom Cruise, which the lawsuit also says is not true.
