Unknown Takes President’s Day Weekend Box Office

The thriller Unknown relegated I Am Number Four to No. 2 at the box office, according to preliminary President's Day weekend figures from Box Office Mojo.

Unknown, which stars Liam Neeson and Mad Men's January Jones, grossed an estimated $21.7 million in its debut weekend. The teen science fiction film followed with $19.5 million in its opening weekend.

Walter Seltzer, Veteran Hollywood Producer, Dies at 96

Walter Seltzer, a Hollywood press agent turned producer, died at the Motion Picture and Television Fund's retirement home, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He was 96.

Born in Philadelphia, Seltzer moved to Hollywood in 1935, where he got a job with Fox West Coast Theatres. He quickly moved into publicity at MGM, working on films starring Joan Crawford, Greta Garbo and Clark Gable.

The Social Network Wins Top Editing Honors at ACE Eddie Awards

The Social Network

The Social Network took home the top prize at the 61st annual American Cinema Editors' Eddie Awards.

Angus Wall and Kirk Baxter, editors of the film about Facebook, won in the dramatic feature category, while Alice in Wonderland's Chris Lebenzon nabbed the musical or comedy category. Ken Schretzmann and Lee Unkrich took the trophy in animated feature competition for Toy Story 3.
