Jerry Lewis, The Labor Day Telethon
Will Labor Day ever be the same? A television fixture at the end of summer since 1966, Jerry Lewis is relinquishing his role as host of the annual muscular dystrophy telethon.
The 85-year-old Lewis announced Monday that this year's show will be his last, promising that he'll still perform his signature song, "You'll Never Walk Alone." He'll continue to serve as the Muscular Dystrophy Association's national chairman as he has the early 1950s. "I'll never desert MDA and my kids," he said.
One Tree Hill's Chase might've been introduced as a celibate "clean teen" in Season 4, but these days he's finding himself in a love triangle. "I like to blame it on the girls," Stephen Colletti jokes to TVGuide.com. "They came after him."
While his character has been getting close again with Alex, played by Jana Kramer, Colletti hopes he gets back together with ex-girlfriend Mia, played by musician Kate Voegele.
Survivor: Redemption Island
The granddaddy of all network reality shows might be showing further signs of creakiness, but Survivor: Redemption Island's finale and afterparty averaged 12.5 million viewers Sunday night.
The three-hour combo, starting at 8/7c, posted a 3.8 rating among 18-to-49-year-olds, helping CBS easily win the night. The season-ender declined compared with the previous season's finale in December (13.6 million, and 4.1 demo rating). But while the show's audience has dwindled in recent years, the TV staple still manages to finish in the top 15, if not the top 10. It consistently attracted more than 10 million people for its usual Wednesday airing this season.
Teresa Giudice, Real Housewives Of New Jersey
No Danielle? No problem! Despite the departure of series antagonist Danielle Staub at the end of Season 2, there's no shortage of drama ahead for the Real Housewives of New Jersey. Case in point: the reality show's third season premiere (Monday at 9/8c on Bravo). The episode welcomes two new cast members — Teresa Giudice's sister-in-law Melissa Gorga and cousin Kathy Wakile — but keeping it in the family comes at a high price as a fight breaks out at a baptism. Giudice talked with TVGuide.com about how her sister-in-law and cousin joined the show, the tension with her brother, Joe, and the "heartbreaking" portrayal of her family this season...
Shortly after veteran player "Boston Rob" Mariano was named the winner of Survivor: Redemption Island, host Jeff Probst announced the reality show's upcoming 23rd season would welcome two more returning contestants.
Survivor will also bring back the Redemption Island element that was introduced this season. Season 23 will see the cast travel to...
