Kudos to NBC's The Cape for just casting one of my favorite unsung actresses for a two-episode arc.
The wonderfully quirky Illeana Douglas, so great in movies like Ghost World, Dummy and Cape Fear, will appear on the new superhero caper as...
Jeff Bridges returned to host Saturday Night Live, noting it was the first time since 1983. Bridges, who received a SAG nomination for his performance in the latest Coen brothers movie, True Grit, used the monologue to poke fun at his role in an earlier Coen brothers film: The Dude, from The Big Lebowski.
Though Bridges denied any similarities, even the Cookie Monster from Sesame Street joined him on stage and called him The Dude. Bridges and the Cookie Monster — who had...
Tonight's two-hour season finale promises lots of emotional fireworks as the five remaining castaways (Chase, Dan, Fabio, Holly, Sash) are cut down to the three players who will face the jury. But who will they be? Chase, Holly and Sash are in an alliance, which means Fabio needs to win the next two immunity challenges or he's jury bound. As for Dan, he needs to convince one or two of the alliance partners that they would be crazy not to take him to the finals because, frankly, no one is likely to vote for him since he coasted through the game and was never a threat to win anything. Following the season finale, the winner is revealed on the Survivor reunion special as the 20 castaways gather in Los Angeles to discuss the game. — Tim Holland

The United States Senate voted to repeal the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy Saturday, effectively allowing gay men and lesbians in the military to be open about their sexual orientation, according to The New York Times.
The law, which was passed in 1993 under President Bill Clinton's administration, was criticized by many for discriminating against homosexual troops. The repeal, which passed the Senate by a 65-31 vote, fulfills President Barack Obama's promise to reverse the ban.

That report that came out Thursday — that TNT had failed to come to financial terms with Larry Hagman to join the cast of its Dallas reboot and was proceeding with a revised script that featured the Ewings without their patriarch? Don't take that to the bank just yet, darlins'.
I just got off the phone with Larry who said all this comes as news to him. I read him the report, which left the 79-year-old TV legend stunned and nearly speechless. "I hadn't heard about that, huh!" said Larry. "That's really interesting. We were talking about money, but I didn't know it was going to come to a crashing halt like that. You got a scoop for whatever that's worth: Larry Hagman doesn't know what's going on!"
What this sounds like to me is a scare tactic — not unlike what Lorimar pulled back in the summer of 1980 after J.R. Ewing's infamous shooting when the production company threatened to replace Larry with actor Robert Culp if he didn't return from Europe, where the savvy businessman had escaped while his team negotiated a new contract...
From the outside, this season of Survivor may have seemed just like any other. There were backstabbings, blindsidings, a tearjerker of a family day, and lots of ridiculously skinny people walking around in as little clothing as possible. But for those paying closer attention, Survivor: Nicaragua has been chock-full of big firsts (Jimmy Johnson's strategy) and surprising turns. (Who would have thought the Medallion of Power would actually end up meaning absolutely nothing?) As host Jeff Probst prepares to name the 20th winner in Survivor history on Sunday, we thought it would be a good time to look back at the good, bad, and...
