Lauralee Bell Invites Shirley Jones over for Family Dinner

Family Dinner

You can't stop the Bells! Actress-writer-director Lauralee Bell — aka Cricket on The Young and the Restless — launches the fifth installment of her wackadoo web series Family Dinner November 15 (funnyordie.com and familydinneronline.com). Previous episodes wowed us with guest stints by Phyllis Diller and Cloris Leachman. This time, Bell goes nuts with a massive cast including American Idol champ Jordin Sparks, suds-rock icon Rick Springfield, drummer Chad Smith of The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Oscar winner Shirley Jones. The last will play a musical therapist named Dr. Jones who comes to dinner intent on healing the screwed-up O'Connell clan, led by Bell's Oprah-obsessed matriarch.

Roush Review: A Hug Before the Lights Go Out

Kyle Chandler

Few rites of passage are more heart-rending than preparing to say goodbye to a loved one — and naturally, I'm referring to a TV show here. Specifically, Friday Night Lights, a miracle of a series about big-hearted people in small-town America. Each chance to visit feels like an emotionally wrought homecoming.

Keck's Exclusives: Halloween Special

Chris Colfer

I asked some of our favorite TV stars to reveal their favorite Halloween costumes of all time. Here's what they said:

Chris Colfer (Glee): "I was a Venus Fly Trap when I was 18. My hands were the plant and then I spiked my hair and made it into a fly with wings. I made the costume myself and I won the best costume prize at the party."

Survivor

Survivor: Nicaragua
8/7c CBS
Last week Brenda made it clear that she wanted Marty gone, so she put into action a plan to force him to play the hidden immunity idol. But at tribal council, Marty didn't play the idol and the vote was deadlocked between Marty and Kelly B. Jeff instructed the La Flor tribe members to vote again, this time only for Marty or Kelly B. Since Marty held onto the idol, it was the perfect opportunity to oust the self-proclaimed mastermind and also get rid of the idol. But La Flor instead chose to snuff out Kelly B. Makes. No. Sense. Perhaps things will become more clear tonight when a plot is hatched to rob Marty of the unused idol. — Tim Holland

Mega Buzz: NCIS' Daddy Danger, House's New Doc and Chuck's Run-In with 007

Cote de Pablo (NCIS), Hugh Laurie (House), and Zachary Levi (Chuck)

Every week, senior editors Mickey O'Connor and Adam Bryant satisfy your need for TV scoop. Please send all questions to mega_scoop@tvguide.com.

Have you heard anything about Ziva's storyline on NCIS' November sweeps episodes? — Carly
ADAM: A special security team will be tasked with protecting Ziva's father (Michael Nouri) when he attends an NCIS conference. Also at the conference: former NCIS agent Riley McCallister, whose troubled past has given him a bit of a hero complex. It's probably no accident that McCallister is played by Michael O'Neill, who learned a lot about gunplay as a Secret Service agent on The West Wing and as the gunman who shot the hell out of Seattle Grace in last year's Grey's Anatomy finale.

Who does Amber Tamblyn play on House? — Peter
MICKEY:
House describes her as the "the love child of Einstein and Mary Poppins." The brainiac's bleeding-heart principles of course irk the cranky doc. So he fires her — several times.... read more
