After a season of intense game playing the December 14 finale of The Biggest Loser came down to a battle between 28-year-old Patrick House and his closest friend on the ranch, 43-year-old Alfredo "Frado" Dinten. With an impressive loss of 181 lbs, House, who started out at 400 lbs, nabbed the Season 10 victory by losing just 1 percent more body weight than his competition, and claimed the $250,000 prize. Just moments after he stepped off the giant scale one last time, we spoke to the no-longer-unemployed sales representative from Vicksburg, Mississippi, who beyond reclaiming his health now feels like he has reclaimed the rest of his life as well.

On the morning that the Golden Globe nominations are announced, at 5:38 am PT, most people await the good news in their pajamas. But The Event's Blair Underwood woke up long before dawn to bring an early Christmas present to this year's nominees. Before he headed back to bed, TV Guide Magazine caught up with the fictional president about what's coming up when his show returns next spring.
Nobody needs a Christmas miracle more than All My Children's Kendall Hart (Alicia Minshew). She's about to receive one — but it's not the one she's hoping for. On the soap's December 27 episode, the Pine Valley heroine, still in deep mourning over the plane-crash death of her husband Zach (Thorsten Kaye), has a visit from Father Clarence, the magical, mystical priest who always appears on the show at holiday time to help those in need. (The terrific Malachy McCourt who played the role for many years had to bow out this time. He's replaced by Michael McCarthy).
