The Fur Flies on Tonight's Vampire Diaries

The Vampire Diaries

The moon is full and the wolves are howling in The Vampire Diaries' final new episode until January (airing tonight at 8/7c on The CW). No one in Mystic Falls — good or bad, human or supernatural — is safe. "Elena takes it all on herself," says Nina Dobrev, who does double-duty as the selfless heroine ready to do whatever it takes to save her loved ones and as Katherine, the seductive, selfish vampire currently stashed in the town's blood-sucker tomb. While Elena is in deep emotional pain, "everyone thinks she's unstable," says Dobrev.

Rescue Me's Peter Tolan: The Hollywood Foreign Press Association Is a "Bunch of Whores"

Peter Tolan

How do you really feel about the Golden Globes, Peter Tolan?

The Rescue Me co-creator and executive producer didn't mince any words when the topic of awards came up during his moderation of Wednesday's Hollywood Radio and Television Society's annual showrunner panel, as he called the Hollywood Foreign Press Association "just a group of whores from other countries."

Check out photos from Rescue Me

"I'm not prone to hyperbole, but the Foreign Press really is a bunch of whores," he said. "They can be bought. ... It's really an excuse to go out with people who don't speak English that well and maybe ...

Watercooler: The Beekman Boys Fabulous Holiday Special

Fabulous Beekman Boys

Ok, if you don't know who the Fabulous Beekman Boys are, a) that's a damn shame and b) fix that. Imagine the spawn of Charles Nelson Reilly and Tim Gunn as raised by Martha Stewart, and you have Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge, partners in life and an upstate New York organic farm who left the big city for the Green Acres life. In the first season of their eponymous reality show (round two begins in the new year), these two not only won us over with their copious amounts of charm, cheek and fish-out-of-water wackiness, they also made uppity llamas and homemade goat cheese must-see TV.

And last night, the sassy ones popped back up to make festive fabulous with a holiday special that was equal parts outtake clipfest and viewer-mail quipfest, with a few how-to hoots — their "obligatory holiday craft segments" — featuring fruitcake tutorials and wreath-making tips thrown in for good measure... read more

Burn Notice Creator Teases Finale

Another explosive season of Burn Notice is about to come to an end, but executive producer Matt Nix promises there are plenty of fireworks in store for the two-hour season finale, airing Dec. 16 at 9/8c on USA Network. "Both of the episodes that run back to back are two of my favorite episodes ever," Nix told TV Guide Magazine at the HRTS Hitmakers Luncheon on December 8. "One is really a battle for Michael's soul. And the finale, I think, is our most action packed and romantic episode yet."

For fans wanting closure, that's exactly what they're going to get.... read more

Roush Review: Fooling With Yule on Community

Community

How powerful is TV's Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, 46 years after its first airing? A week ago Tuesday, CBS' annual telecast clobbered the equally classic animated treasure How the Grinch Stole Christmas on ABC when they went head to head. Since then, The Daily Show's Jon Stewart put his voice over the Burl Ives snowman/narrator as part of a hilarious holiday-animation takedown of Fox News Channel's yearly "War on Christmas" hysteria. ("The season wouldn't feel the same without people going out of their way to be offended by nothing.") Glee kicked off its frenetically sentimental Christmas episode this week with a rendition of "The Island of Misfit Toys" (how appropriate). And now the entire cast of NBC's Community looks like they stepped off of Hermie's assembly line in Santa's workshop.

As you may have heard, this week's episode of Community, "Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas," is done completely in stop-motion animation, the style immortalized in those enduring Rankin/Bass Christmas-TV chestnuts... read more
