HBO Releases New Game of Thrones Teasers

Game of Thrones

HBO's Game of Thrones won't debut until sometime next year, so you'll just have to make do with the cable channel's teases.

Before Sunday's True Blood finale, HBO offered another peek at its upcoming lavish adaptation of George R.R. Martin's fantasy novel series. The clip, which focuses on a raven and features a few washed-out glimpses of the series main characters, ends with the line, "Winter is coming."

HBO also launched a making-of website, which offers featurettes about the production of the series and features even better clips of the show.

Adapted for HBO by David Benioff and Dan Weiss, Game of Thrones stars Sean Bean, Alfre Allen and Mark Addy and  chronicles the violent struggles among noble families for control of the Iron Throne of Westero... read more

The Closer (Monday, 9/8c, TNT)
Surprise Emmy winner Kyra Sedgwick wraps this summer's season of the hit crime drama, as Brenda's unit and the FBI investigate the murder of two paramedics, a case with terrorist implications. This forces Brenda to work alongside the head of the counter-terrorism unit, who is also up for the Chief of Police job. (If you missed any of the current season, the episodes will be replayed in a daylong marathon starting at noon/11c.)... read more

Keck's Exclusives: Jane Badler Vamps Up V

V

Even though she played lizard leader Diana to wicked perfection on NBC's original V from 1983-85, Jane Badler tells me she had to fight fang and nail to get cast as an all-new version of Diana on ABC's reboot. "From the moment I heard V was coming back, it was something I was hoping to be part of, but they tested a lot of people for this role," confides Jane from the Vancouver set. "A lot of years have passed, so it feels good to win something." While this is an entirely different take on Diana... read more

Ask Matt: Go, Peggy! Plus White Collar, Big Bang, NCIS, and More!

Elisabeth Moss

Send questions to askmatt@tvguidemagazine.com and follow me on Twitter!

Question: I'm starting to think Elisabeth Moss is going to have a major problem to deal with next summer: deciding which Mad Men episode to submit for Emmy consideration! Peggy has always been one of Mad Men's most complex and intriguing characters, but this season it just feels like Moss and the writers providing her material have been stepping it up more and more in each episode. I can't decide which Peggy moment has been my favorite so far this season: her dabblings in '60s counterculture, her moving reaction to the news of Trudy Campbell's pregnancy, her clever takedown of the horrid new art director, or any of her scenes with Don in the heartbreaking "The Suitcase" episode. What really is blowing my mind is that we're only about halfway through this season of Mad Men. If it's this good already, I can't even imagine how great the climactic episodes are going to be! I just wanted to check in and see if you have been enjoying Peggy lately as much as I have been... read more

VMAs: Who Took the High Road? Kanye West or Taylor Swift?

Taylor Swift

If you thought MTV might confront the Kanye vs. Taylor elephant in the auditorium at Sunday's VMAs, you were probably disappointed.

Who rocked the VMAs white — not red — carpet?

But Kanye West and Taylor Swift still faced off at MTV's Video Music Awards Sunday — never sharing a stage — with their performances. And opinions were intensely split about who was better.

True Blood Episode Recap: "Evil Is Going On"

Anna Paquin

The Season 3 finale of True Blood was kind of an understated affair and/or a mess — you choose! As in past seasons, a big-bad villain was dispatched (R.I.P., Russell), but instead of providing any semblance of satisfying closure, his death was a mere side dish to several other incremental developments that appear to be setting up Season 4. In the meantime, we're left with quite a few burning questions:
