Melissa Archer, Greg Vaughan
Red alert! Melissa Archer, the flame-haired fan fave from One Life to Live, will hit NBC's Days of Our Lives Dec. 5 as Serena Mason, a globe-hopping medical journalist who had a romance with Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) several years ago in Africa. Their love affair ended when Eric chose to enter the priesthood. But now that he's been defrocked — thanks to that sordid incident where he was raped on tape by psycho-villain Kristen DiMera (Eileen Davidson)— he's one available heartthrob! TV Guide Magazine sat down with Archer to score some exclusive intel.
Anthony Geary. Jane Elliot
It's about damn time! Daytime drama's lion king, Anthony Geary, heads back to General Hospital this week after a six-month absence and TV Guide Magazine has an exclusive look at the ABC promo heralding his return.
Get your brain around this. On Nov. 27, it will be one quarter of a century since Peter Bergman joined CBS's The Young and the Restless as the ruthless but maddeningly lovable Jack Abbott. "In some ways it seems like I got here only yesterday," says Bergman. "But then I'm on the set and look over at Hunter King [who plays Summer] and realize I was already on the show four years when she was born! What the hell?" To celebrate Bergman's milestone, TV Guide Magazine asked the three-time Emmy winner to look back over his run, pick his favorite scenes and give us the scoop on each. Check out the awesome clips!
What the hell has she done now? Days of Our Lives' Melanie Jonas, the heart-tugging crisis queen played by Molly Burnett from 2008-2012, will return to the NBC soap Nov. 21 — and she's in big trouble! TV Guide Magazine gabbed with the dishy, delightful, two-time Emmy nominated Burnett to get the lowdown. Make sure to check out the exclusive clip below!
She was the biggest star on the planet and could do what she damn well pleased — and that included taking a job on a daytime soap! It's been 33 years since Oscar winner Elizabeth Taylor stunned Hollywood by appearing on ABC's General Hospital as villainess Helena Cassadine, who campily crashed the wedding of Luke (Anthony Geary) and Laura (Genie Francis) and put a curse on them that lasts to this day.
Is Hell coming to Salem on Halloween? Former As the World Turns star Marie Wilson hits NBC's Days of Our Lives on Friday, Oct. 31 as Bree, who not only has a past with Hope (Kristian Alfonso) but also one with Aiden (Daniel Cosgrove), the man of Hope's dreams. Does Bree have intel that could destroy this romance before it even gets started?
Grab a hanky, or 12. Soap superstar Alison Sweeney checks out of NBC's Days of Our Lives next week, nearly 22 years after she joined the show as stormy conniver Sami Brady. Sami leaves Salem a widow, thanks to the recent presumed death of her hubby EJ. But there's good news: After a series of deeply emotional farewells with friends and family, she will head to L.A. where studio execs — who have read that horrid Sami expose written by her son — are eager to put her story on screen. Of course, TV Guide Magazine had to get Sweeney's take on all this!
Charismatic supercreep Adam Newman will return to CBS's The Young and the Restless Wednesday, Nov. 5, and he'll be looking just like Justin Hartley! TV Guide Magazine had a chat with the former Revenge star about the return of the presumed-dead Adam, who will now be sporting a new puss thanks to plastic surgery. Word is, he wants his old life back. And what Adam wants...
Here comes Mama! Next month's sure-to-be-juicy Ridge-Caroline fashion show on CBS's The Bold and the Beautiful will boast a very special guest — Judith Chapman from B&B's sister soap The Young and the Restless. Chapman will bring her high-octane matriarch character, Gloria Fisher, to the splashy event and make a beeline for wealthy Eric Forrester (John McCook).
Long before Jonathan Jackson was cast as tempestuous loverboy Avery Barkley on ABC's Nashville, he was playing Lucas Lorenzo "Lucky" Spencer on the network's hit daytime soap General Hospital — a little gig that won him a massive fan following and five Emmy awards.
