Geary: That's very kind but, in the soap business, everyone is expendable and you never take anything for granted. That said, I'm not sure the audience does buy this. When that ex-KGB agent Alexander Litvinenko was poisoned with polonium a few years back — they think by Putin — he was covered in gruesome sores. It's a hellish death. I really wanted to go there but they wouldn't let me. [Laughs] I do love to look bad.

NBC is adapting the popular Venezuelan telenovela The Black Widow for American audiences. Sri Rao (General Hospital: Night Shift) will write the script. The Black Widow is based on Venezuela's telenovela La Viuda Joven, which premiered in 2011 and aired 142 episodes around the world.
Electus is producing. The Black Widow is one of three telenovelas that Electus is developing for NBC, with an eye toward one of them airing as a 13-episode series, with multiple episodes running each week, much like an actual telenovela.

Prospect Park has suspended One Life to Live indefinitely while it settles a lawsuit with ABC, The Los Angeles Times reports. However, writers are still working on scripts for a second season of All My Children, which also migrated from TV to Hulu this year.

Two-time Emmy winner Chandler Massey filmed his final scenes as Days of Our Lives' gay heartthrob Will Horton on Friday, Aug. 23 — only he didn't know they were his last until he was summoned at the end of his work day to the office of Greg Meng, the soap's co-executive producer. During this meeting, Meng informed Massey, who had been planning to depart the NBC soap when his contract expired in December, that he would have to leave immediately because a replacement had already been hired. Massey exited the studio sans fanfare — no farewell party, no goodbyes, no nothing — and sources close to the young actor say he was devastated and in tears. His last episode will air on or around Dec. 31.
