On Thursday's episode of Bones, the show introduced Walter Sherman, a new character who has the unique ability to find anything or anyone no matter where they are in the world. As Fox mulls whether to order a separate series following Walter and his handlers, we want to know how you think it stack up against some of TV's most memorable spin-offs ever. Spun Off From: JAG We first meet Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Anthony DiNozzo and the NCIS team as they investigate JAG's Harm (David James Elliott), who is suspected in the murder of a lieutenant. The rest, as they say, is history. Still setting ratings records in its eighth season, NCIS is the No. 1 show in America and has spawned its own spin-off, NCIS: Los Angeles.

A Different WorldSpun Off From: The Cosby ShowWhen Denise Huxtable left Cliff and family behind, NBC followed her to Hillman College. The show tackled race and class issues Cosby didn't, and, of course, gave us Dwayne Wayne.

RhodaSpun Off From: The Mary Tyler Moore ShowValerie Harper played the titular character and Mary Richards' best friend who moves back to New York. The show became a bigger ratings hit than its parent show and won two Golden Globes and two Emmys.

Joanie Loves Chachi, Mork and Mindy, Laverne and ShirleySpun Off From: Happy DaysHappy Days deserves special credit for producing spin-offs. Some were winners (Laverne and Shirley), some were losers (Joanie Loves Chachi), but all made their  mark. 

FrasierSpun Off From: CheersWinning a record-setting 37 Emmys in its 11-season run, Frasier is easily the most successful spin-off ever. All but two actors from Cheers (Kirstie Alley and Nicholas Colasanto) made appearances during the run.

AngelSpun Off From: Buffy the Vampire SlayerAs the vampire Angel, David Boreanaz struggled with his tortured soul, which was restored to him by gypsies as punishment for murder. He fought demons and other beasties in his work as private detective.

The JeffersonsSpun off From: All in the FamilyThe former neighbors of Archie and Edith Bunker moved on up to the East Side in their own show, which ran for 11 seasons and even spawned its own ill-fated spin-off, Checking In

JoeySpun Off From: FriendsWith all of his friends married (or working on it), Joey moved to L.A. to further pursue his acting career. Let's hope he fared better than this show, which was mostly unfunny and didn't make it more than two seasons.

Time of Your Life Spun Off From: Party of FiveJennifer Love Hewitt's Sarah moved back to New York to investigate her biological father, and quickly made new friends. The show went nowhere, but it was one of Jennifer Garner's earliest appearances.

Melrose PlaceSpun Off From: Beverly Hills, 90210The show got its start when 92010's Kelly (Jennie Garth) started pursuing Grant Show's bad boy Jake. Though the romance fizzled out, the show went on for seven deliciously sexy seasons.

Family MattersSpun Off From: Perfect StrangersFirst appearing as an elevator operator on Strangers, Hariette Winslow and her family took center stage in their own show. At least until Steve Urkel showed up and stole the spotlight.
