Lance Reddick, White House Down

The Fringe alum will find himself in familiar territory as an agent tasked with protecting the Speaker of the House (Richard Jenkins) when a paramilitary group takes the White House hostage in the Roland Emmerich popcorn flick. He may not be dealing with Observers and weird science, but if both the president and the vice president are killed, his charge will be next in line!

Jason Sudeikis, Ed Helms and Nick Offerman, We’re the Millers Missing all your favorite NBC funnymen? This quirky take on a road-trip comedy, starring SNL's Sudeikis, The Office's Helms and Parks and Recreation's Offerman, should help. In order to pay off a debt to his supplier (Helms), small-time drug dealer David (Sudeikis) enlists virtual strangers (Jennifer Aniston, Will Poulter and Emma Roberts) to pose as his family while smuggling a large amount of marijuana into Mexico.

AnnaSophia Robb, Allison Janney, Rob Corddry, Nat Faxon, Maya Rudolph, The Way, Way Back A more appropriate question might be, which TV star isn't in this upcoming indie, from the Oscar-winning Descendants writing duo of Faxon (Ben & Kate) and Jim Rash (Community)? In the film, Liam James (young Shawn Spencer on Psych) plays Duncan, a 14-year-old introvert who's reluctantly spending the summer with his mother (Toni Collette) and her overbearing bully of a boyfriend (Steve Carell). At the boyfriend's beach house, he meets quirky neighbors Betty (Janney) and Kip (Corddry), as well as Susanna, a teen played by Carrie Diaries star Anna-Sophia Robb, who quickly becomes the object of his affection. Faxon, Rash and Rudolph also star as employees at a local water park where Duncan ends up working.

Aubrey Plaza, Alia Shawkat, Rachel Bilson, Donald Glover, Andy Samberg, Connie Britton, Bill Hader, Adam Pally, Nolan Gould, The To Do List Written and directed by Hader's wife Maggie Carey, the '90s-set rom-com stars Plaza as Brandy Clark, an awkward overachiever and virgin who decides to become more sexually experienced before she heads off to college. So she comes up with a "to do list" (wordplay!). Helping her check off those items are, among others, the characters of Hader, Glover, Samberg, Shawkat and Bilson, who plays Plaza's older sister.

tv-stars-to-movies-the-smurfs2-1

Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays, Sofia Vergara, Alan Cumming, The Smurfs 2 All four TV stars reprise their roles from the first Smurfs film. How I Met Your Mother and awards host extraordinaire NPH plays the smurfs’ No. 1 ally, along with his movie wife, played by Mr. Schue’s newly pronounced TV wife on Glee, Mays. Vergara returns as his boss. And best of all, Cumming ditches Eli’s on polished suits and slicked back hair to rock sideburns and a kilt as the animated Gutsy Smurf, the show’s true action star.

Melissa McCarthy, Tony Hale, Taran Killam, The Heat

The Mike & Molly star is back on the big screen playing an uber-butch cop teamed up with Sandra Bullock's straight-laced federal agent. Joining them is Veep and Arrested Development star Hale, who shows off his quirkiness playing a man arrested for soliciting a prostitute. Killam, best known for SNL, also appears in the film.

Ed Helms, Ken Jeong, The Hangover Part III

For those either living under a rock for the last four years or suffering from a serious chase of "Changnesia," Helms and Jeong reprise arguably their most well-known roles in this final installment. After saying goodbye to the annoying, but lovable, but really irritating Andy Bernard on The Office, Helms steps into the shoes of resident worrywart and wet blanket Stu. Jeong, coming off another season as Community wildcard Ben Chang, plays the equally unpredictable gangster Mr. Chow, who was last seen locked up in a Thai prison at the end of Part II. Someone get the aspirin ready.

Benedict Cumberbatch, Star Trek: Into Darkness

Cumberbatch's famed detective on Sherlock may be condescending and insufferable at times, but at least he fights on the "side of the angels." In contrast, the equally brilliant character he plays in Star Trek is more of an avenging angel who is targeting the good guys. Khan — a character that was once interpreted by Ricardo Montalban with bare-chested zeal — is a genetically enhanced human that has been frozen in cryogenic sleep but revived in the 23rd century to help design weaponry. And judging by his promise to Kirk that "I will walk over your cold corpse," his genius is only matched by his seething anger!

Kerry Washington, Craig Robinson, Tyler Perry Presents Peeples Scandal’s Washington hangs up Olivia Pope’s white hat and shows off her comedy chops in this comedy from Tyler Perry. She may captivate viewers (and tweeters) week after week as TV’s best fixer, but this time it’s Washington’s on-screen dad, played by David Allen Grier, doing the fixing when her boyfriend (Craig Robinson) proposes marriage at their family’s annual getaway. After going from recurring player to series regular on The Office, Robinson finally graduates to leading man. Let’s just hope he brought his dancing shoes.

Idris Elba and Charlie Hunnam, Pacific Rim

In this robots vs. aliens flick, Sons of Anarchy star Hunnam becomes humanity's last hope against the extraterrestrial invaders. The Wire's Elba plays Hunnam's commanding officer, who's given us our new favorite inspirational battle cry: "Today we are canceling the apocalypse!"

Alec Baldwin, Louis C.K.Bobby Cannavale, Blue Jasmine

Very little is known about Woody Allen’s latest except that it is “the story of the final stages of an acute crisis and a life of a fashionable New York housewife,” played by Cate Blanchett. However, all we really care about is seeing Louis C.K. in a Woody Allen film — a match made in pop culture heaven. 30 Rock’s Baldwin also proved himself a good fit for Allen’s prose in last year’s To Rome with Love. And we’re just excited to (hopefully) see Boardwalk Empire’s Cannavale retire his serious gangster side and just make audiences laugh.

Lena Headey, 300: Rise of an Empire

On HBO's Game of Thrones, Headey plays the blonde and incestuous Queen Regent Cersei Lannister. In the big screen sequel to 2007's 300, she keeps her royal status by reprising the role of Queen Gorgo, who is now a widow after the death of her husband King Leonidas in the Battle of Thermopylae. Once again, the Spartan queen will be called on to use her political influence, but this time to aid an alliance between Sparta and its traditional rival of Athens, which is the first city that is targeted by the Persian Army that destroyed her husband's.
