The 100 (The CW)

Premieres: Wednesday, March 19 at 9/8c What do you get when you cross The Lord of the Flies, Battlestar Galactica, and [insert any CW show here]? This surprisingly heavy and promising sci-fi drama about incredibly attractive juvenile delinquents who've been tasked with assessing the livability of a post-apocalyptic Earth while the adults wait in an orbiting spaceship to see if the kids are eaten by aliens. Teens will die, and you will enjoy it. (Pro tip: The title's pronounced "The Hundred," not "The One Hundred." Impress your friends.) Henry Ian Cusick, Eliza Taylor, Paige Turco, Isaiah Washington and future heartthrob Thomas McDonell star.

Walton is destined for stardom, and his chemistry with the affable Driver could make him supernova.

The Assets (ABC)

Chozen (FX)

Premieres: Monday, Jan. 13 at 10:30/9:30c Bet you never thought you'd see a primetime animated comedy about a white, gay, ex-convict rapper, but here you go. Voiced by Bobby Moynihan, rapper Chozen is back on the streets with a positive message gleaned from his time on the inside. Expect more than a few butt jokes, because the show comes from the same minds that spawned Eastbound & Down and Archer. The cast also includes Hannibal Burress, Michael Pena, Kathryn Hahn, Method Man, and Nick Swardson.

Crisis (NBC)

Premieres: To Be Announced Not to be confused with Hostages on CBS, Crisis is an action thriller that kicks off when a school bus carrying the children of Washington, D.C.'s most elite and powerful people — including the POTUS himself — is ambushed, and all the young'uns are kidnapped. Lance Gross (House of Payne) takes the lead as Secret Service agent Marcus Finley, who's drawn into the situation on his first day on the job. (Maybe he should ask The Blacklist 's Liz Keen for advice?) Gillian Anderson, Rachael Taylor, and Dermot Mulroney also star.

Enlisted (Fox)

Premieres: Friday, Jan. 10 at 9:30/8:30c Ten hut! Fox drafted this comedy about three very different brothers working at an Army base in Florida, and it has the potential to be a midseason gem. (Think Stripes with a bit of Police Academy thrown in for good measure.) Geoff Stults stars as the charming leader of a ragtag company of goofballs who polish tanks and fix gear while the real soldiers are off fighting overseas. Chris Lowell and Parker Young co-star as his smarter and younger brothers, respectively.
14 of 28 Colleen Hayes/NBC

Growing Up Fisher (NBC)

Premieres: TBD J.K. Simmons, Jenna Elfman, Ava Deluca-Verley, and Eli Baker star in this half-hour, single-camera comedy about a dysfunctional family. Parents Mel (Simmons) and Joyce (Elfman) are getting a divorce, but their children don't know it yet. Meanwhile, teenage daughter Katie is obsessed with the '80s and going to the mall, while 11-year-old Henry is reeling from being replaced as his blind father's eyes and ears by a guide dog named Elvis. Just your typical American family stuff, really.

Moore. As Farragut's team gets closer to finding the cause of the disease, they learn that they may also hold the key to preventing the annihilation of the human race. And here they thought they were setting out on a paid vacation!

Intelligence (CBS)

Premieres: Tuesday, January 7 at 10/9c One way to describe this action-oriented cyber-thriller: It's about an intelligence operative with a microchip implanted in his brain that allows him to wirelessly tap into the internet, satellite feeds, and the rest of the global information grid in his battle against bad guys. Another way to describe it: Lost's Josh Holloway kicks a lot of ass and looks good doing it. And Meghan Ory looks good as his new handler. And Marg Helgenberger looks mean as his no-nonsense boss.
17 of 28 Bill Matlock/ABC

Killer Women (ABC)

Premieres: Tuesday, January 7 at 10/9c The promos for this show like to emphasize the fact that it's executive-produced Sofia Vergara, but perhaps they'd do better to play up the return to television of Battlestar Galactica 's Tricia Helfer, who plays Molly Parker, the only female Texas Ranger on an elite squad committed to justice. She's a ballsy woman who gets things done while her colleagues sit around and wait for her to fail. The series reunites Helfer with former BSG co-star Michael Trucco, who plays Molly's brother Billy. The rest of the cast includes Alex Fernandez, Marta Milans, Jeffrey Nordling, and Marc Blucas.

Looking (HBO)

Mind Games (ABC)

Premieres: Tuesday, March 11 at 10/9c The fun romp from Kyle Killen (Lone Star, Awake) stars Christian Slater and Steve Zahn as Ross and Clark, two brothers who create a one-of-a-kind business: an agency that helps its clients get what they want through the real science of motivation, manipulation, and influence. But how much of their game is research-based, and how much of it is con artistry? Oh, and because every TV character has to be flawed, Ross just got out of prison after serving time for fraud, and Clark is a former professor suffering from bipolar disorder.

Mixology (ABC)

Premieres: Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 9:30/8:30c Open a tab with this boozy, high-concept comedy and you'll get the feeling of going to a fancy singles bar without the drudgery of putting your face on. The entire season is set over the course of one night, and each episode will focus on various characters as 11 different (and presumably attractive) people meet and greet. Despite a lack of big names in Mixology 's cast, ABC has enough confidence in the series to give it a shot in the plum time slot after Modern Family.

Opposite Worlds (Syfy)

Premieres: Tuesday, January 21 at 10/9c Just as makeup competition Face Off reworked Project Runway for the geek crowd, this reality competition gives Big Brother a makeover by literally dividing a house into two "realities." Contestants are still crammed into one domicile to irritate each other, but some of them live in a blinged-out space with a technologically superior and comfortable futuristic motif, while the rest are blasted back to a bare-bones past. To add to the torture, there's a glass wall between the two sides, so the contestants living "in the future" can rest their heads on memory foam pillows while laughing at their counterparts who are sleeping on piles of straw. Syfy has scheduled two episodes a week, with the second featuring a first-for-the-network live element.

Private Lives of Nashville Wives (TNT)

Premieres: Monday, February 24 at 10/9c In the same vein as the Real Housewives franchise, and probably helped by ABC's Nashville, this new reality series shadows six opinionated women as they live, work, and try to figure out their lives in the country music capital. One wife is a former soap star, and one of them used to work at Hooters. In other words, be prepared for all kinds of sass and drama.
23 of 28 Jaimie Trueblood/FOX

Rake (Fox)

Premieres: Thursday, January 23 at 9/8c An adaptation of the Australian show of the same name, Rake stars Emmy nominee Greg Kinnear as chaotic criminal defense lawyer Keegan Deane. He's brilliant and charming, but also self-destructive to the point that he's in debt to his bookie, he's dodging the IRS, and his main love interest may or may not be a prostitute. The series also stars Miranda Otto as Keegan's ex-wife Maddy, John Ortiz as his best friend Ben, and Necar Zadegan as Ben's wife Scarlet.
24 of 28 Bob Mahoney/ABC

Resurrection (ABC)

Premieres: Sunday, March 9 at 9/8c Zombies! Sort of. In a small town in Missouri, dead people rise from their graves decades after they went six feet under, causing many a freakout and much confusion. At the center of this existential mystery drama is one undead boy named Jacob, who shows up on his parents' (Kurtwood Smith, Frances Fisher) doorstep 30 years after he died. Naturally this causes some concern for his folks, as well as the sheriff (Matt Craven) whose wife drowned trying to save Jacob.

Star-Crossed (The CW)

Premieres: Monday, February 17 at 8/7c Aimee Teegarden of Friday Night Lights fame is going back to high school on The CW's newest sci-fi drama. When an alien race known as the Atrians landed on Earth several years ago, a young human girl befriended a young alien boy who was then captured. Several years later, a small group of aliens is assimilated into the human school system, allowing Teegarden's character Emery to be reunited with the now fully grown and very attractive alien hunk (Matt Lanter) she thought died long ago. Malese Jow and Grey Damon also star.

The Spoils of Babylon (IFC)

Premieres: Thursday, January 9 at 10/9c The Thornbirds. Falcon Crest. And now The Spoils of Babylon. Funny Or Die's Adam McKay and Will Ferrell wring the decadent soaps of the '80s into a parody miniseries with a stellar cast. Based on a fake book written by one of the characters, it tells the story of the Morehouse family, who rise from Texas rags to Wall Street riches. Ferrell, Tim Robbins, Kristen Wiig, Tobey Maguire, Jessica Alba, Val Kilmer, and Haley Joel Osment headline the OMG cast.
27 of 28 Jim Bridges/HBO

True Detective (HBO)

Premieres: Sunday, January 12 at 9/8c Looking for a slightly sunshinier version of The Killing? Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey brood around Louisiana as detectives who reopen a murder case they worked in 1995 in this visually stunning new mystery anthology series. As the men work the case in present day, flashbacks intertwine and reveal buried truths about what really happened 17 years ago.
