Adventure Time

Who says cartoons are just for kids? Adventure Time may have started out as a stoner favorite short, but it has since grown into a TV show everyone can enjoy (no matter your level of intoxication). With humor that ranges from meta-clever to just plain weird, Adventure Time is always an entertaining, good time.

The Bachelor Franchise

There's a reason The Bachelor franchise has grown to be as large as it is. (It's even inspired the parody series Burning Love.) Unlike a lot of newer reality shows, The Bachelor doesn't bother with big twists or superficial thrills. The show keeps things simple: It's a search for love. And at the end of the day, this is something everyone can relate to. (Plus: Hotties in hot tubs!)

Beauty and the Beast

It's not easy to be a hot beast, but Jay Ryan manages to provide major eye candy. And while the overarching plot is unrealistic and a bit cheesy, beneath it all is a simple love story that's easy to root for.

Big Brother

Even after 14 seasons, we still can't get enough of this Survivor-meets-The Real World show. Contestants live in a camera-rigged house where they backstab, yell at and sleep with fellow competitors until one lucky player walks away with $500,000. The premise rarely changes, but it always delivers grade-A trashy drama.

The Carrie Diaries

You'd think an entire series immersed in '80s nostalgia would give you a synth-induced headache, but Carrie Diaries somehow keeps the twee at an enjoyable level. Though the show is directed at kids who are too young to remember the '80s (or Sex and the City, for that matter), that hasn't stopped us from cheering on the young Carrie Bradshaw each week.

Catfish

In this day and age, it's safe to assume most of us have tried Internet dating once or twice. So, watching Catfish is like watching our biggest fears play out on the screen. Though a lot of its entertainment value is derived from watching people get duped by their would-be online partners, it's also very educational. By seeing the countless oversights online daters make, we now know the tips and tricks to avoid it. Who says reality TV can't better our minds?

Dallas

Back in its original heyday in the '70s and '80s, Dallas helped define the term "guilty pleasure," thanks to its intoxicating mix of boozing, bedding and backstabbing. The TNT reboot serves up a lot more of the same, due in large part to the irresistible eye candy that is the four new series regulars, Jesse Metcalfe, Josh Henderson, Jordana Brewster and Julie Gonzalo. It sure is a good thing that Bobby and J.R. (and Bobby’s housekeeper!) had such attractive children. As long as viewers just gloss over some of the more confusing details about Ewing Energies and the rights to Southfork, this show is a fun treat.

Dance Moms

We are against everything this show stands for — exploiting children for fame and money, bullying said children and their mothers for fame and money — and yet we love it. Watching Dance Moms involves zero thought, except maybe thinking how insane it is that anyone actually puts up with instructor Abby Lee Miller's harsh techniques. But sometimes its good to just sit back and watch the drama unfold.

Duck Dynasty

The Robertsons are giving the Kardashians a run for their money when it comes to reality TV's most famous family. The duck hunters are a refreshingly wholesome bunch who are comfortable in their own skin, full of love for one another and sporting some of the best beards we've ever seen. What's not to love?

Hemlock Grove

We might not have any idea what was happening in Hemlock Grove, but that didn't stop us from devouring every episode of this supernatural thriller. Werewolves, cyborgs, immaculate conception by angels — this show was no-holds-barred insane! Plus, it gave us one of the most gruesome werewolf transformations of all time.

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo

Forget a dollar — Honey Boo Boo makes us holler! The pint-sized beauty queen has more sass in her little finger than a Drag Race contestant and enough confidence to inspire anyone to improve their self-esteem. Add to that her eclectic family (and some genuine heartfelt moments) and this TLC show is more than we could ever hope for.

Ice Loves Coco

With gems like Coco rapping about getting freaky with her shoes, Ice doling out words of wisdom, and their adorable bulldogs Maximus and Spartacus, the show is nonstop laughter. The pair might seem like an odd couple, but watch just one episode of the show and you'll not only see just how perfect they are for each other, but how much they love each other.

Keeping Up with the Kardashians

It's near impossible not to keep up with the Kardashians nowadays. Between their various reality shows, media appearances and magazine covers, the First Family of E! should suffer from serious overexposure, yet somehow we always find ourselves more than willing to sit down and watch an entire season marathon. Who are we to deny Lord Dissick his court?

Mob Wives

Our love of Mob Wives can be summed up in two words: Big Ang. The niece of mobster Salvatore Lombardi, Ang is over-the-top in everything she does. From drinking to plastic surgery, she never does anything halfway. Watching a woman who is so fabulous and comfortable flaunting this fact is almost like touching greatness.

My Crazy Obsession

If you thought Hoarders was bad, then My Crazy Obsession is definitely not for you. Coffee enemas, couch-eaters, adult babies — this TLC show is schadenfreude at its darkest. But sometimes when we're feeling a little down, it's nice to turn on TV and remember that there's always someone weirder than you.

Pitbulls and Parolees

What's better than a show about dogs? A show about rescuing dogs! And even more heartwarming (and also sad) than seeing these poor pups saved and find homes is seeing head of Villalobos Rescue Center Tia Torres hire and nurture parolees, work with the dogs, help with rescues, learn about compassion and change their lives.

The Real Housewives Franchise

Real Housewives is the Baskin Robbins of reality franchises — there's a flavor for everyone. Do you like your housewives with a side of wig-snatching? Then Atlanta's for you! If you prefer your housewives a little more chi chi, dahlin', it's Beverly Hills all the way. No matter what your mood or taste, Real Housewives is always there for you with feuding rich women to put a smile on your face. Heck, even Kareem Abdul Jabbar loves the Housewives!

Revenge

We'll be the first to admit Revenge hit a bit of a sophomore slump, but nothing will stop us from sticking with the ABC drama until the very end. Yes, Season 2 might have jumped the shark a bit, but these absurdities only gave us more fodder to gossip over. Did we roll our eyes when we found out Victoria had a son? Of course! But we can't wait to find out who he is!

RuPaul's Drag Race

The library is open! Yet for some reason, we can't bring ourselves to throw any shade in Drag Race's direction. The hair, the makeup, the general fabulosity of RuPaul and the contestants — everything combines to create a perfect, glittery competition that has both a sense of humor and real heart. Shante, you stay!

Say Yes to the Dress

Who said wedding dress shopping is just for brides? While Say Yes to the Dress features a crazy cast of characters, it's obvious the show's true stars are the gowns themselves. Thanks to this TLC series, even the biggest spinsters have a chance to vicariously ogle all the beautiful simplicity of Vera Wang or mock the gaudiness of a Pnina. So You Think You Can Dance

Unlike many of its reality show peers, SYTYCD never dabbles in contestant exploitation. Instead of using auditions to repeatedly mock the deluded, the series prefers to focus on dancers who display actual talent from the very start. Even when the competition gets down to the wire, there's a supportive camaraderie between the dancers, judges and choreographers, which has proved contagious. Stay classy, SYTYCD!

Splash

A celebrity diving competition was never going to be the next Breaking Bad or Arrested Development. Heck, Splash isn't even the next Jersey Shore, but that doesn't mean it isn't perfection in its own right. From Joey Lawrence's awkward hosting (and that hair!), to those terrible theme songs, Splash is best when it's at its worst. And we love it all the more for it.

What Would Ryan Lochte Do?

So he doesn't know what laces are called and he insists on taking every one of his dates to the same sushi joint ("It might be the same place. It might be the same table. But it's a different girl"). And he freely admits to blanking out on his thoughts ("Like all the sudden, like I have a jumping banana in my head, and I just pause and I'm like, 'That damn jumping banana's in my head.' Like I don't know what's going on up there"). Yes, Ryan Lochte is entertainingly dim, but as easy as it is to mock him for the ridiculous things that come out of his mouth, it's also equally (if not more) easy to watch in awe as he does his insane swim drills and strongman training. That's the Lochte Edge. Jeah!

Wipeout

Everyone should periodically give into their inner 8-year-old boy, and this show delivers with some mighty big balls (and if you're lucky, zombies!). There's nothing better to unwind from your day than the gleefully puntastic dialogue narrating as the colorful contestants (such as "The Pink-quistador") run headlong into an oversized, cartoonish obstacle course. But much like love, music and math, Wipeout's slapstick appeal really needs no language. Although schadenfreude plays a little into our pleasure, we really know it's all about us and our dreams of someday testing our own mettle against the big balls. Check your pride at the door. This is all about the ride.
