See the newcomers who'll invade your TV screen this fall

Nina Dobrev, Vampire Diaries

She had a bit part in last seasons' Eleventh Hour, but Canadian fans may know her best as Mia from Degrassi: The Next Generation. She's sure to garner some stateside attention on the CW's Vampire Diaries, on which she plays the object of two bloodsucking brothers' affection.
2 of 9 Jardin Althaus/NBC

Joel McHale, Community

The Soup funnyman will bring the laughs to network TV in NBC's Community, playing a lawyer who must return to college after his degree is deemed invalid. Though he's best known for his stand-up and Soup zingers (usually about Ryan Seacrest), McHale actually boasts a (hopefully valid) master's degree in acting from the University of Washington.

Michael Strahan, Brothers

No, your eyes aren't deceiving you. It's a former football star who's not starring on Dancing with the Stars. Instead, Strahan, an ex-New York Giants defensive end, will, uh, tackle comedy in Fox's Brothers, about two estranged brothers (Strahan and 10 Things I Hate About You's Daryl "Chill" Mitchell) who struggle to get along after Strahan's character moves back home.
4 of 9 Matthias Clamer/Fox

Lea Michele and Cory Monteith, Glee

You may have seen her briefly on Third Watch, and he's done bits on Smallville and Supernatural and an arc on Kyle XY. Together, on Glee, they serve as the choir's two best talents: a peppy perfectionist looking to go to Hollywood and a hunky quarterback who's trying to keep his reputation between solos.

Katie Cassidy, Melrose Place

David Cassidy's daughter will ditch Harper's Island and her brunette locks for sun-kissed California blonde on Melrose Place. The actress, Supernatural's original Ruby, plays Ella Simms, a ruthless publicist who's looking to be MP 2.0's Amanda Woodward.

Trevor Donovan, 90210

This Abercrombie & Fitch model is best known for, well, being hot. (Google his pics if you don't believe us). Soaps fans may recognize him as Days of Our Lives bad boy Jeremy Horton, but this fall he joins 90210 as the gorgeous, charming, smart... and gorgeous Teddy — a tennis prodigy and son of a movie star.

Meghan Markle, Fringe

The Deal or No Deal suitcase-holder will crack new cases as a junior FBI agent on the supernatural series. And yes, Markle has more credits to her name than holding suitcase No. 24: She's appeared on General Hospital, CSI: NY, 90210 and Without a Trace.
8 of 9 Ron Tom/ABC

Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Modern Family

He had roles in short-lived sitcoms The Class and Do Not Disturb, but we're somewhat confident he will have better luck in this season's Modern Family. Ferguson plays the neurotic half of a gay couple that just adopted a baby girl from Vietnam.
9 of 9 Mitchell Haaseth/NBC

Anastasia Griffith, Trauma

This British actress may be best known as Katie Connor, Ellen's would be sister-in-law on the FX legal drama Damages. This fall, she stars in the new, high-octane paramedic drama Trauma. Watch your back, Meredith Grey!
