Hugh Grant and Elizabeth Hurley

Why would you pay for sex when you can go home to Elizabeth Hurley? Beats us. Grant was arrested for misdemeanor lewd conduct in June 1995 when he was caught with hooker Divine Brown in his car on Hollywood's Sunset Boulevard. He pleaded no contest, paid a fine and was ordered to complete an AIDS education program. Hurley, whom he started dating in 1987, stood by him for another five years before they split. Even better for Grant? His subsequent charming but contrite Tonight Show interview (during which Jay Leno famously asked, "What the hell were you thinking?") became a career-defining insta-classic.

Jude Law and Sienna Miller

Less than seven months after getting engaged, Law issued a public apology in July 2005 for cheating on Miller with his children's nanny, Daisy Wright, who later spilled all the dirty deets to British tabloids (one of his kids caught them in the act). Miller broke up with Law, but they quickly reconciled — a pattern they repeated until they split for good in 2011.

David Boreanaz and Jamie Bergman

Rachel Uchitel wasn't only Tiger Woods' mistress — she was Boreanaz's as well. In 2010, the Bones star admitted to cheating on his wife of nine years and mother of his two children after he said he was being blackmailed. The couple is still together and in 2011, Boreanaz said that working through his infidelity ended up "a bonding experience" for them.

Tori Spelling and Charlie Shanian, and Dean McDermott and Mary Jo Eustace Spelling and McDermott wasted no time hooking up on the set of the 2005 Mind Over Murder: They slept together the first night they met. Spelling quickly split from Shanian, her husband of a year, and McDermott told his wife of 12 years that he was leaving her while on a family vacation. (The couple was in the middle of adopting a baby girl, which Eustace completed by herself.) By December, Spelling and McDermott were engaged and they married the following May; they now have four children. In her subsequent books, Spelling wrote that she doesn't regret cheating — but she does worry that McDermott would cheat on her.

Frank Gifford and Kathie Lee Gifford

Mile-High Club? Gifford had a two-month affair with flight attendant Suzen Johnson in 1997, during which their weeklong hotel rendezvous was secretly videotaped by The Globe, which paid Johnson for the scoop. The tabloid ran the story in May, publicly embarrassing Kathie Lee, who tried to put on a brave face daily on Live with Regis and Kathie Lee. The Giffords are still together. And Johnson? She posed for Playboy.

David Letterman and Regina Lasko

It was no laughing matter in October 2009 when Letterman revealed that he had been a victim of an extortion attempt by someone threatening to expose his numerous sexual relationships with female Late Show staff members, including his personal assistant, Stephanie Birkitt. Letterman devoted a significant portion of one show apologizing to his staff and his wife, and the couple, who started dating in 1986 and have a son, are still together. 48 Hours producer Joe Halderman, an ex-boyfriend of Birkitt's, was later arrested and served a six-month jail sentence after pleading guilty for his involvement in the attempted blackmail.

LeAnn Rimes and Dean Sheremet and Eddie Cibrian and Brandi Glanville Rimes and Cibrian had an affair while filming the 2009 Lifetime movie Northern Lights. They vehemently denied initial cheating reports, but both couples separated in July 2009 and promptly filed for divorce. That August, Rimes and Cibrian stepped out together for the first time and both finally broke their silence on the affair the following year after their divorces were finalized. They wed in April 2011. While Sheremet, a dancer, has laid low, it's hardly water under the bridge for Rimes and Real Housewife Glanville, who've been blasting each other in every public forum possible the past few years.

Jack Nicholson and Anjelica Huston

The legendary lothario's 16-year romance with Anjelica Huston ended in 1989 after he told her that his mistress, actress Rebecca Broussard, was pregnant. Huston's reaction? She beat him up. "The reality was that I was annihilated emotionally by the separation from Anjelica. That was probably the toughest period of my life," Nicholson said in 2011. "I may have made a mistake but I don't want to go back and correct it. I would rather deal with it." Nicholson and Broussard have two children together and broke up in 1994.

Usher and wife Tameka Foster

The new Voice judge never confirmed reports that he had cheated on TLC singer Chili, but he admitted to Oprah in 2012 that he was not entirely faithful to Foster, whom he divorced in 2009. "Towards the end of our marriage, I found myself lost, and I just wanted out," he said. "I was faithful at heart, but not faithful all the way. Even having a conversation with another woman, period, about matters of your relationship or emotions is, in my opinion, not being faithful."

Eric Benet and Halle Berry

The R&B singer infamously went to sex rehab during his separation from Berry in 2002, but the pair divorced the following year. In 2005, Benet opened up about his indiscretions and said that the was not a sex addict, but rather, he agreed to go to rehab to save their marriage. "We all know I cheated. It was out there. It's a betrayal," he told People. "But I never did have sexual intercourse with anyone while I was with Halle. Going into rehab was presented to me by her mother that in order for the marriage to have a shot, this is what you need to do. ... But I'm not a sex addict. I wanted to save my marriage and do anything necessary to do that. I went and heard other people's stories and realized this is really not my struggle."

Woody Allen and Mia Farrow

The heart wants what it wants. Allen and Farrow split in 1992 after the actress found nude photographs that Allen had taken of Soon-Yi, her daughter whom she had adopted from Korea (Allen never adopted Soon-Yi). After a lengthy and contentious custody battle over their three children (Farrow accused Allen of molesting their 7-year-old daughter, which a judge found inconclusive), Allen married Soon-Yi in 1997, and they have two daughters. None of his three children with Farrow keep in touch with him — and Ronan Farrow snarked on Twitter on Father's Day in 2012: "Happy father's day — or as they call it in my family, happy brother-in-law's day."

Balthazar Getty and wife Rosetta Millington

Most stars keep their transgressions on the down-low. Not Balthazar Getty. The Brothers & Sisters star had a highly publicized affair with Sienna Miller (yes, the same Sienna Miller whom Jude Law cheated on) in 2008, frolicking on the beach and PDA-ing in each other's laps — all while his designer-wife was home with their four kids. They eventually broke up and Getty went back home. "Here's the bottom line: It was a very challenging time for everybody involved," Getty told Harper's Bazaar in 2010. "But I loved and missed my family too much not to make it work. Rosetta is understanding enough and spiritual enough to let us try. In a way it ... I feel like we're better than we've ever been."

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson

Twihards' world was shattered in July 2012 when Stewart publicly apologized to her beau after photos surfaced of her cozying up to her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders. Pattinson reportedly moved out of their shared L.A. home (and sought help from Water for Elephants co-star Reese Witherspoon), but they were back together by November — just in time for press for the final Twilight movie. As for Sanders, his wife, Liberty Ross, filed for divorce in January.

Jesse James and Sandra Bullock

Less than two weeks after Bullock took home the Best Actress Oscar in March 2010, Michelle "Bombshell" McGee claimed she had a yearlong affair with James, who eventually issued an apology to Bullock and his children. He checked into rehab "for personal issues," but in April, Bullock filed for divorce, which was fast-tracked and finalized in June. The couple had been in the process of adopting a baby boy, Louis, who had been living with them since January, and the actress completed the adoption as a single parent.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver

The couple shocked the world when they announced their separation in May 2011 after 25 years of marriage. But a week later, the reason was revealed: Schwarzenegger had fathered a child with their longtime household staff employee Mildred Patricia 'Patty' Baena. The boy, Joseph, was born five days after the Schwarzeneggers' youngest child was born in 1997 and Schwarzenegger financially supported him. Shriver filed for divorce that July.

Tiger Woods and wife Elin Nordegren

Two days after The National Enquirer ran a story claiming that the golfer had an affair with nightclub manager Rachel Uchitel in November 2009, Woods was involved in a car accident outside of his home. A week later, after a voicemail he had left for a mistress was leaked, he admitted to multiple transgressions and announced an indefinite break from golf. In a televised statement in February 2010, Woods revealed that he had been in a 45-day treatment program and reiterated his apology. He and Nordegren, who have two children together, divorced that August.

John Edwards and wife Elizabeth

After an incriminating report from The National Enquirer, the former VP candidate admitted in 2008 to an affair with videographer Rielle Hunter, but denied that he had fathered her child. Elizabeth stayed with him until January 2010, when he admitted that the child was in fact his. Elizabeth died that December before filing for divorce after a mandatory one-year waiting period. The fallout from the scandal continued for Edwards though, who was indicted for misappropriating campaign funds to cover up the affair in 2011; the charges were later dropped.
