Despite his best vocal performance in weeks (and maybe because of his hideous outfit), Jacob remains at the bottom of our Power Rankings for a second week. Is there anything he can do to win voters back?

"It was a rough start with Jacob. I admire his trying to shake it up a bit; but the performance was uneven and he really has no command of the stage." — gtown7

Lauren pushed herself to new heights vocally, but she couldn't vault herself into top spots of our Power Rankings. We still think she's one of the best voices in the competition, but she just doesn't seem to be making that all-important connection with viewers.

"Lauren is a beautiful young girl and has lots of talent, but the puppy dog, teary lack of confidence is gonna kill her." — TheresaFiano

Haley escaped the Bottom Three once again. While a single mistake could mean the end of her at this point, she remains our favorite dark horse in the competition.

"She truly has come into her own. She is worlds apart from where she was 5-6 weeks ago. Thought it was another top-notch performance. She showed some character in her voice and not too much growl." — speedy1383

Scotty went soft and tender and… we liked it! It's as close as he's come to mixing things up, so we'll give him credit. Unexpectedly, he hangs on to the runner-up spot in our Power Rankings.

"Scotty was close to having an Idol moment.' … He really sounded great throughout. I do think that was my favorite Scotty performance to date, and I haven't been a fan." — darclyte

With a whopping 49 percent of the votes in our poll, James looks to be running away with the competition. Can he sustain his momentum?

"I don't mind James, but I am not a fan of the scream or metal sound. I liked it when he sang softly, but then he had to hit those high pitchy notes, which gets old." — jillage
