From boy bands to belly shirts, the '90s were a golden era for pop music. But what happened to our fave musical icons once the decade faded away? Here's where the biggest '90s stars ended up.

Spears was another '90s pop star who launched her career on The Mickey Mouse Club. The teen idol's first album, ...Baby One More Time, became the best-selling debut album of all time.

In August 2016, Britney Spears released her ninth studio album, Glory. She followed up the release with a triumphant return to the MTV VMAs stage.

After a wholesome start on TV's The Mickey Mouse Club, Aguilera showcased her six-pack abs in the video for her breakout song "Genie in a Bottle." Aguilera went on to release hits like "Come On Over Baby" and "I Turn to You," which topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

Today, Aguilera is best known as a coach on NBC's reality competition show The Voice. She's also rumored to drop her next studio album sometime in 2016.

Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough and A.J. McLean became a boy band in 1993. The Backstreet Boys released three albums in the '90s: Backstreet Boys, Backstreet's Back and Millennium. They went on to sell 130 million albums, making them the best-selling boy band ever.

Richardson announced his departure from the band in 2006. He's held a smattering of acting gigs in addition to working on his own solo album in 2012.

McLean launched a solo career that had success in Japan. His second album is expected to drop in 2016.

After the band went on hiatus in 2002, Carter launched a successful solo career. He also appeared on Dancing with the Stars in 2015.

Dorough released one solo album in 2011 before launching other business ventures, including co-founding a real estate development company, Sweet D, with his older brother.

In 2006, Littrell launched a solo Christian pop career with the album Welcome Home. The album landed on the Billboard 200 and Christian charts.

The '90s showcased Brandy's acting and singing chops. She starred in her own television show, Moesha, while recording two studio albums. One of those albums, Brandy, included the crazy successful song "The Boy Is Mine," a duet with Monica.

Today, Brandy is the creator and an executive producer of BET's Zoe Ever After. She also starred in Chicago on Broadway in 2015. It's rumored that her seventh studio album will drop in 2016.

Justin Timberlake got his start on The Mickey Mouse Club before joining JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone to form the group *NSYNC in 1995. In 1998, the boy band released its first self-titled album in the U.S., which sold 11 million copies.

Several Grammys later, Timberlake is now a solo artist and producer. Most recently, he worked on the score for indie flick The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea. Timberlake also dabbles in acting, and recently lent his voice to the upcoming Dreamworks production Trolls.

After *NSYNC went on hiatus in 2001, Chasez launched his own solo music career. His first single, "Blowin' Me Up (With Her Love)" appeared on the Drumline soundtrack.

Bass has founded several production companies and published an autobiography titled Out of Sync. Bass always had a desire to travel to space, and underwent cosmonaut training for a documentary about space travel. Unfortunately, MTV backed out before the production ever came to fruition.

Since *NSYNC went on hiatus, Fatone has built a long list of television, stage and movie credits, including My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Dancing with the Stars and Rent.

Kirkpatrick has done voice acting for various shows, including The Fairly OddParents. He showed promise as a country music artist in Gone Country 2 in 2008.

Moore released her first single, "Candy," in 1999. That year, she toured with both *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys -- not bad for a 15-year-old!

Today, Moore's resume boasts a broad range of television and film roles, including voicing Rapunzel in Disney's Tangled. She confirmed in 2015 that she is working on her seventh studio album.

Another blonde heartthrob of the late '90s, Simpson dropped out of high school to record her debut album Sweet Kisses. She also started dating Nick Lachey, with whom she would co-star in the reality series Newlyweds.

After switching genres and becoming a country singer, Simpson is now a successful fashion designer. She divorced Lachey in 2006 and married retired football player Eric Johnson in 2014.

Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham formed the insanely popular British girl group in 1994. Their debut album, Spice, sold 30 million copies worldwide, making it the best-selling album by a female group in music history.

Halliwell left the group in 1998 to pursue a solo career. The remaining members released one last album, Forever, before going on hiatus in 2000. The Spice Girls came together for a reunion tour in 2007. Beckham is now an internationally-recognized fashion designer who is married to soccer star David Beckham. Chisholm is still putting out records with her own label, Red Girl, and is currently a judge on Asia's Got Talent. After a solo music career, Brown has pursued acting and television host gigs, including Lip Sync Battle UK and America's Got Talent. Emma Bunton also had a successful solo career.

Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas formed the Grammy Award-winning group TLC in 1990. Their 1994 album, CrazySexyCool, sold more than 23 million copies. The album contained four top-ten hits: "Creep," "Waterfalls," "Red Light Special" and "Diggin' On You."

After Left Eye was tragically killed in a car crash in Honduras in 2002, T-Boz and Chilli completed album 3-D using her pre-recorded vocals. T-Boz and Chilli continue to perform as a duo, and are currently working on their Kickstarter-funded fifth studio album.
