Fox's rebooted "event series" is back for Season 11, which will feature the return of Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully's (Gillian Anderson) son William, in addition to the type of supernatural adventures we've come to love and expect from the alien-hunting duo. With this season widely expected to be Anderson's last, we hope she goes out on a high note.

Producing partners Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk (American Horror Story, American Crime Story) are teaming up once again for this procedural that chronicles the professional and personal lives of first responders. The series stars Murphy favorites Connie Britton and Angela Bassett, as well as Peter Krause, Aisha Hinds and Rockmond Dunbar.

After her breakout role as Denise on Aziz Ansari's Master of None, Lena Waithe is branching out into her own show. She's the creator and executive producer (along with Common and Elwood Reid) of Showtime's The Chi, which follows residents of Chicago's gritty South Side.

The newest DC Comics series stars Cress Williams as the titular superhero, who comes out of retirement and returns to his vigilante ways after a corrupt gang begins to take over his community. Don't hold your breath for a five-way crossover, though: this takes place in a different superhero universe than The CW's other comic book based shows.

Can Ryan Murphy and FX top the Emmy-winning first installment of Murphy's true crime anthology series American Crime Story, which focused on the O.J. Simpson trial? We'll see, with the arrival of this nine-episode dramatization of the 1997 murder of fashion designer Gianni Versace. The series stars Edgar Ramirez as Versace, Penelope Cruz as his sister Donatella, Ricky Martin as his partner Antonio D'Amico, and Darren Criss as his killer, Andrew Cunanan.

Premieres: Monday, Jan. 22 at 9/8c

Based on the novel by Caleb Carr, TNT's new drama is set in New York City in the late 1800s, when then-police commissioner Teddy Roosevelt (Brian Geraghty) assembled a special investigative team dedicated to solving a series of murders of young male prostitutes. The show also stars Daniel Bruhl as the titular criminal psychologist Dr. Laszio Kreizler, Luke Evans as newspaper illustrator John Moore, and Dakota Fanning as police secretary Sara Howard.

Premieres: Friday, Feb. 2

This new Netflix series based on the 2002 cyberpunk novel by Richard Morgan will be catnip for scifi fans. Set 500 years in the future, in a society where human personalities upon physical death can be downloaded and stored in new bodies called "sleeves," Altered Carbon tells the story of a soldier who's brought back to life to look into the murder of a wealthy man. The show stars Joel Kinnaman, James Purefoy and Renee Elise Goldsberry.

Since Marvel's Jessica Jonespremiered on Netflix way back in 2015, fans have been clamoring for a sophomore season. And our wait is almost over. The second installment will see the titular heroine dealing with professional and personal repercussions after murdering her abuser at the end of Season 1. A new case will also cause some secrets about her past to come to light.

Will ABC's American Idolbe bigger and better than its predecessor on Fox? Better is still up in the air, but ratings-wise, it will be tough for the reality singing competition to outperform the original. Nevertheless, we're excited to see what changes ABC will bring to the franchise, not to mention how Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie will perform at the judges' table.

Friday Night Lights fans will fall in love with the newest offering from FNL and Parenthood creator Jason Katims that follows a group of high school students and their parents in a low-income Pennsylvania town. It's basically Friday Night Lights with musical theatre rather than football as a backdrop, starring Josh Radnor, Rosie Perez, and a bunch of teens who are about to become household names.

Premieres: Tuesday, March 27 at 8/7c

The highly-anticipated reboot premieres this spring on ABC and will feature the return of all our favorite Conners -- yes, even Dan (John Goodman), who died of a heart attack in the original show. It's still unclear how the writers are going to retcon the series finale, but we're here for this in all its blue-collar glory.

We can't wait to see how Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale follows its Season 1 success and breaks free from the Margaret Atwood novel on which it's based. Expect Season 2 to follow Luke (O-T Fagbenie) as he builds a new life in Canada and tries to track down his kidnapped wife June (Elisabeth Moss).

Before there was Mean Girls, there was Heathers. Set to premiere on the new Paramount TV (formerly Spike) early in the new year, this anthology series about a set of outcasts who take over their high school is based on the 1988 film of the same name. Grace Victoria Cox (Under the Dome) stars as Veronica Sawyer, a role originated by Winona Ryder in the movie. Original star Shannen Doherty is also set to make a cameo in the pilot.

Details are scarce about the 10-episode Grey's Anatomy spin-off that will follow a group of firefighters (we don't even have a title yet), but we can speculate that Ben's (Jason George) firefighter exam training will result in him embarking upon a new career path. What's less clear is what that will mean for his relationship with Bailey (Chandra Wilson). Jaina Lee Ortiz co-stars as his female lead.

Chaos rules Westworld when the HBO series returns for its sophomore season. We don't know where the plot's going after that jaw-dropping Season 1 finale, but we do know that geographically, the show will take viewers outside the central park seen in Season 1 and maybe into other worlds, possibly including a Samurai one and a Roman one.

We're on the edge of our seats awaiting this adaptation of Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn's debut suspense novel. Set to air on HBO in the summer, the eight-episode limited series stars Patricia Clarkson and Amy Adams as Adora and Camille, a mother-daughter duo whose toxic relationship may turn deadly after Camille, a crime reporter, returns home to investigate the murders of two young girls. If that wasn't enough to spark your interest, it's being developed by the award-winning team of Marti Noxon (UnREAL, Mad Men) and directed by Jean-Marc Vallee (Big Little Lies).

This psychological horror series from J.J. Abrams follows a group of residents in the (fictional) titular town and features characters and themes drawn from a number of Stephen King's works, including Dolores Claiborne, It, The Green Mile, Misery, The Shining and more. It also boasts a star-studded cast that features Terry O'Quinn, Jane Levy, Sissy Spacek and Melanie Lynskey.

This 10-episode dark comedy starring and executive-produced by Emma Stone and Jonah Hill, and directed by Cary Fukunaga, is based on a Norwegian series. It revolves around the fantasy worlds created by two patients (Hill and Stone) in a mental institution, and is expected to land on Netflix sometime in 2018.

Based on the best-selling coming-of-age novel by Stephanie Danler, the new Starz drama stars Ella Purnell as Tess, a 22-year-old who moves to New York City and gets a job at a buzzy eatery, where she meets a group of people who expose her to a world she'd never even dreamed of.
